Sparing most fierce!

Jack Flap calls out "Get em Brogan..."

Holger has the advantage in strengh, but the sidhe squire IS fierce and well trained

Kerri hears the voices rising from the sparring ring, and she comes to the kitchen door and looks out, drying her hands with a dishcloth.

It looks to be harmless, the kids use practice weapons. Layne fusses "Be careful guys!"

Layne is definitely a girly girl... and Jack is SUCH a boy, it's no wonder they don't see eye to eye.

Kerri grins. She doesn't want to make too many predictions about Jack and Layne, but...well, tropes are tropes for a reason. She watches curiously to see how Brogan comports himself in practice combat.

Like a champ.

He even ggives Holger some advice "I know you have the Code of Dagda which tells you to seek out the strongest foe, Holger, but you must not underestimate my Kith, many of the houses are wariior houses" Side step, strike "And while we don't have your might, we have house gifts, and natural intimidation of our own sort, and lots of trainning"

Holger , to his credit, nods and rather than ggetting pissy, goes "Si. I will not forget"

She clears her throat. "Would the warriors and spectators like me to bring out some lemonade?"

Holger frowns "I am not sure I have earned Lemonade yet, Hearth. My back swing? It is too slow "

"Is it mighty?"

"Quite mighty" Brogan speaks up for Holger

"EVERYONE Deserves Lemonade, Miss Kerri" Lane clearly refuses to have sunshine hued drinks denied to anyone

"Then I think lemonade is in order," she assures Holger. Then a nod to Layne. "Agreed. I'll bring it right out. Carry on!"

Jack says "I think Brogan is bette with the sword, but Holger you're getting good."

She goes back into the kitchen, grinning in quiet amusement as she sets up a tray with a jug of lemonade and several glasses.

It would appear the boys have put away their weapons, and nnow ,all three boys, including Jack, have formed a war council to discuss the results and how well they could defeat a foe if one came

Lane proposes "We could make FRIENDS instead"

She adds a plate with cookies to the tray and brings it out, just in time to see what looks like the boys excluding Layne. "Lemonade!" she announces.

Holger steps aside... to let Lane go first and indeed catches Jack by the shoulder "Senoritas first. it is ggood mannners"

Jack groans "Crazy Fenix rules"

"Actually, that's not atypical" the Squire says "And it's okay as long as the girl doesn't mind"

"Fenix manners tend to be a good standard, from what I've seen, Jack," Kerri agrees.

Layne beams "Thank you for the thought, Holger, but it's okay." She does get her Lemonade and cookies "Thannk you, Miss Keerri"

"And good point, Brogan. Respect people's wishes." She nods.

The Squire nods , but is secretly pleased as his knight confirms that

NOW Jack goes "Well, Fenix does have some cool stuff. I still like your food better, Hearth Kerri but they sure do make good Churros"

A sigh. "I have never managed to master churros."

Holger says "Maria and Rosa are.. they would be proud to hear your praise." He clearly has his biases for the bogggans but is too polite to say so

Brogan's brows knit. Oh dear. Is he feeling defennsive for his knight's cooking skills "I am sure your churros are quite excellent, Dame Kerri, and gettin more so"

"Oh, it's not something I worry about Brogan. I don't need to be able to do everything," she points out.

"Holger, how are things at Fenix?"

Holger ponders "Bueno," He answers "It is so good, Senoir Zane was thinkinng of living there"

"Was he?" She keeps her tone neutral, casual. "Did he tell you why?"

"He did not, but Ahpuch, he is a sluagh and hears things, he says it is because he messed up badly here and ruinned things . What things i do no know"

"Mm, I see." She nods. "Well, I can tell you that Zane did not mess up badly here, and he did not ruin anything, at least not as far as I'm aware."

Holger ponders "He is very nice .A good wizard. I do not know how he keeps finding coins in the girls ears and noses"

The others munch cookies

"Magic, of course," she says seriously. "I will leave you to your snack. Somebody please bring things back into the kitchen when you are done."

She returns to the kitchen, and makes a mental note to visit the Wayburtons.

And the kids soon focus on which cookies are their favorites like kids should
