He blinks, and ... even goes a little misty-eyed. "I think perhaps your mother chose the wrong person to be Mountain-after-me." he says softly "Or, Vali may have an early retirement too, when the time is right."

"Oh Vali will be fine" she says, her own eyes a tad moist, a bit confused by something but not bringing it up "Why do you think he's wrong or short lived? "She takes his hand "You want me to support him so.. how can I help him?"

"No, I think he is an excellent choice, and will live a long and full life. As to how to support him....Ask him."

"I will, and I have to give him a blessing, but to be honest with you, his won't be so fancy." she smiles fondly at her father despite their disagreement "Now, you've your blessing. What duty can I do to help the Mountain who is, while he still is? Need quills sharpened, ink filled? Runes put in bags?"

"Vali and I haven't spoken yet on how much of my things he'd like to have for the job. He might want to make his own, but to be fair some of what I have was Vegard's. I'll ask him."

"Mmm" A nod "Fair enough. You go on and restt. I'll clean the dishes and confuse the Hearth crew"

Frank chuckles a low rumble and nods, heading into the main room of the Lodge.
