"you gotta work with the meat, Frank, not against it" Olgar says at the grill area

"Mm." non-committal, nuetral.

"Right Jordan?" Olgar declares

Piper lingers near the snack table after the deck party is derailed, enjoying a spicy bean dip. She sniffs the air appreciatively at the smell of BBQ.

Jordan blinks, looks at both, then looks at Olgar"You told me the smart unseelie didn't let an appeal to court into a conflict that was none of his biz?"

"Yeah? What I'd tell you about those lessons you were getting for free?" Olgar adds

Jordan sighs, then goes, then in a CHIPPER voice that does not sound right says "Golly Mr. Rover you are right, Meat working against VERY Bad."

"Darn Right" Olgar grins and gives him a burger, then looks at Piper "You want a one of these grilled mushrooms for a veggie burger?"

Kerri drifts by, delivering drinks for the grillers. "Play nice, Olgar," she says with a wink.

"Sounds great! Is that a homemade BBQ sauce?"

"Oh, Piper, don't...." Kerri winces as Piper opens the great gates of The Bar-b-que Sauce Discussion.

"If you like that sort of thing." Frank says dipolmatically.

"Sure is, see, the secret of a good sauce..." Olgar begins his ted talk...

Jordan whispers to Kerri "What's happening here?"

His first 4th with them

"History," she says dryly to Jordan. "Lots of history."

And she extricates herself to set up a tug-of-war for the childlings (probably Jack and Connor vs. Lane?).

"I can see both appeals." She offers diplomatically. "The homemade sauce offers complexity and nuance, while sticking with a more traditional recipe evokes fond memories of the flavors one is familiar with."

Olgar grunt nods at that

"The flavors of the food itself." Frank agrees, and clarifies. "Personal preference, of course."

While... sneaking an extra splash of the homemade sauce on her mushroom.

"I'm all about the Nuance" Olgar says as both keep grilling

Meanwhile, Dagmar and Lupe have made it back to shore and are stretched out on the grass.

"Damn that meat smells good" Lupe sniffs the air

Frank continues cooking his UNSAUCED meat.

"If you got the appetite, I advise taking one of each."

Siv comes in looking triumphant "Da, trade you a burger for a Jessica?" And she looks behind her

Jessica approaches. "Hi, everyone."

She's tanner, maybe blonder, dressed casually in shorts and a teeshirt, sandals.

"Only one of each?" Lupe tells Dagmar, "Sam, you've seen my pack eat before." A smile

Frank's beard moves, and his eyes shine. "Hello, Jess." she gets a kiss on the cheek, although he does not abandon his grill.

"Okay, point."

Siv gives Piper a kiss on the cheek too "These carnivores providing?"

Frank gets a kiss in return.

Jess goes to greet others.

Piper grins up at Siv. "I still love the smell of roasted meat. Rover Olgar cooks a mean portabella burger."

"See, Piper gets it," Olgar grunts pleased.

Siv whispers in Pipers ear "Yes she does, regularly, Jonas and I see to that" But as a dutiful daughterr, she moves to Frank after that and says "Dad, one of your grade A fanastic burgers please?"

Piper goes into a little coughing fit, she had a mouthful of burger and she laughs and tries to chew at the same time.

And it is possible she really does like her dad's burgers best, not just out of bias, but because dad's burgers go back further in her memory annd she has been , as frank would see it, 'raised right'

Dagmar and Lupe have a new problem as htey lounge on the grass

Connor explains to Jack, "It is fair. She has twice as many legs, but there are two of us." When the little satyr seems ready to complain about losing the most recent round of Tug of War...

"In fact, we have twice as many arms! Where's Brogie..."

Brown dog has hovered over htem, and starts to lick Dagmar and Lupe each on the face

"Gahhh! Dog!"

"Your dog is too stupid to know what i am, isn't he?" LUpe gahs

"BROGAN!" Jack bellows

Brogan sighs, "they won't let me help with the food, what do you and Connor want?"

"Yeah, he is." A grin back as she sits up and reaches over to rumple the mutt's ears.

Layne says "Broggan you gotta help me in the tug of war, pLEeeese?"
