"Yeah well, this is in the umbra thing...like your.. damn I can't remember.. that magic place YOU guys go but next to it maybe? Anyway, it's not going to be easy. Dark powers etc. annd.." She sniffs "Do you have a frog on you because I'm smelling something like Frog"

"Oh, yeah! A treasure.. thing..."

"From my bird friend."

She produces the little frog. "I haven't figured out just what it does yet."

She eyes it, "What have you tried?"

"Uh. Thinking frog thoughts?"

"Corax's.. blabbing all the time, and THEN they get secretive because it's " She makes air quotes "Fun"

"Have you tried takingg a dunnk in water with it?" She ponders "Frog is water spirit, you know?"

"That'd make sense..."

"So I can throw you in the water now and claim to be helping?" She claps her hands together and rubs her palms in mock eagerness

BROW.

"Okay okay.. I won't try, nnot at THIS size anyway, but submersion might work and I do legit think it's worth a try."

"Okay, sure. So what's the quest?"

"It's a challenge, three fold. A powerful spirit has a .. I guess you'd call it a treasure. Our pack could use it. but the jerk spirit wonn't give it up with testing...and because it thinnks it's FUNNY, one of the tests is onne that 'no shifter may pass'" A smile "That's when I thought of you.

"Ha. Fair."

"Darn straight. " Then she sobers "But it's dangerous. You're strong and I .. i remember dreams of you being bad ass in a lot of cool ways ..but the umbra has things that are stronger than a Garou. Deadlier too. You won't be alone, but there is a risk. I wouldn't blame you if you said no"

"Well. I'm a knight."

"I will probably have to check with the Chief."

"that's fair, pack comes first" She agrees "Now, get wet. and try to swim... I want to see if that's the trigger to 'thinking frog'"

"Oh, jeez. Fine."

She takes off her shoes and rolls up her jeans.

"Let's see some hustle, King" Mimicing one of their coaches

Good-natured eyeroll as she wades into the stream.

The water isn't too cold

She holds the frog in her hand.

"So... FROG."

Lupe watches. She's not laughing or anything. Her advice was not a prank

"I did try hopping with it."

"Maybe I can talk to frogs? Ribbit?"

"Okay, I've been good and TRIED not to laugh.. but if you do that I might"

"I don't feel very froggish."

"Shit"

"Gronk." Comes the croak, helpfully!

"Yes, gronk? I know you feel froggish."

She feels a tingle. In her... legs? Where the water is touching her skin, through her clothes. She feels slightly stifled, like when breathing through a mask. But the air still comes through.

Lupe notices that Dagmar hasn't inhaled in a minute or so. But she's not turning blue. Or rather, blue-er than Lupe has seen her before.

"Hey.." Lupe rises "You're .. amphibious"

Blink.

She sticks an arm in the water.

"I mean.. you'e not inhaling with your mouth and nose"

"It kind of tingles."

"Well, no flippers so far.. go all the way under, you knonw, lay flat, annd see if you need to come up for air"

A hesitation. "I'm gonna be soaked."

"Just... don't laugh, yeah?"

"Never to your face" She makes a scout's honor sign

Another sound from the pond. It's the little frog she hears now. pi-peep. Pi-peep.

She sits down in the creek. "Oh, now I have an audience?"

"Of course you do, Frog spirit" She reminds

The water laps lightly against her, and feels nice.
