"Well, I'm a hillside at best" he smiles "But I'll try "

"I'm worried for the Thomases, Zane. I feel guilty about it all." Frank admits quietly.

"You? Why would you feel guilty?" Surprised

"I am the Mountain in the place where the Thomases.... happened. And I did not serve them well. Any of them."

"Oh now that's not.. look you answered what they asked"

"That is not the same as helping them. Adam, particularly."

"They were all in rather unique situations.. nothing in the lorebooks quite covered. You and others here did your best. they did their best. And bad things happened anyway. Sometimes that happens"

Frank raises a brow.

"Huh?" Confused

"You just offered me very good perspectives. I'd like you to adopt them, yourself."

A wince "Crap "

He finishes his dr. Pepper "Thanks, Mountain. I DO appreciate it"

"Yes, well... you will get used to that feeling. And you are welcome."

He rises "i'll go check on the Thomases, let you know how it goes"

"Don't put yourself at risk, Zane. That's ... well, a firm request. And thank you."

"I won't. Don't worry, if it gets dangerous I'll finnd a troll to hide behind. Learned that from a pooka" A grinn and he's off.

Frank pounds the rest of his beer.
