"We should stop him, before he can do anything else."

TXT: Dad's okay! I didn't catch the fucker!

"We -will- stop him." Frank says with certainty.

A decoy, Symon realizes. Mountain Frank thought it might be a decoy. He was right. It just wasn't a decoy for another attack at the lodge.

"Yeah. He doesn't hurt us and get away with it."

He scowls, and texts Dagmar.

TXT: Brown dog was a decoy. Hit attempt at home. All ok. Dirk didn’t catch them though.

Another Text from Dirk TXT: I didn't tell mom yet. Should I?

A reply to Dirk: TXT: Fuckers hit Sam’s dog to distract us here. NO. She might do something stupid.

TXT: Let's go find him!

He tries his call again.

TXT: I hear that! MFer must die

A grunt, and she tells Frank. "Symon says BrownDog was a distraction. He tried for Dr. Lee."

And he gets Lady Grey... "Grey's grimmoires, dead trees never die. how may I help you?"

Symon has to speak up, Wyrded his voice is more of a whisper than ever. “Lad- Mrs. Grey. Can you talk? It’s Symon Lee.”

"What!??!" Frank is heading for the Lodge.

"Dagmar, can you send Siv a message with that information, please? Tell her to tell Brekke."

“I am trying to identify someone who put out a hit on...a friend of a friend. Grump, seemed a professional.” And he describes the man. “I need to find out who hired him.”

"I can." Texting Siv.

"He's a sluagh?" A pause "Mr. Lee, as a courtesy we do not air each others doings lightly. Is this news staying only among sluagh?"

He hesitates... then responds. “The information you provide me will. I will not judge a cousin for being hired to do a job. The Trolls here may choose otherwise, but they would do so on their own. I will not share your information. I just intend to verify that the ultimate force behind the hit was who I suspect it is. Not to take personal grievance with the tool he used.”

Frank goes through the Lodge from the back/kitchen door to the front, pausing long enough to grab keys and coat.

Symon keeps an eye on Anne Marie, if she is in sight. Even as he holds his hushed call.

"What's going on?" Anne Marie asks sensing he tension

Dag eventually returns to the Lodge, prowling around on guard.

And Frank is out the door. (King of the Road)

“I understand. Madame... they’ve targeted my family. My mother and father.” Said as explanation.

"Ah, well then... that's rude. Whoever employed him should pay. The sluagh in question goes by Mister PODSNAPPERY. He is not cheap."

"wise boy. but remember, direct any vengeance towards the hand that drew the knife, not the knife himself if you can"

"But of course. Give little lily my least chilled regards" yes, Lily is apparently a delight

Oak is near Dagmar, pressing against her side with his own. He will protect with her. They will guard!

She pats the dog's side. "good boy."

He whispers a farewell and hangs up.

He doesn't feel like a good boy really. He should have been on guard

but he gives a soft wag

“Dags? How’s the dog?”

Brown Dog has a comfy spot by the bale

and is breathing fine now, as he snoozes

"I don't know."

"I... Kerri knows good magic."

"He'll be okay, right?"

Oak bumps her lightly again. Brown dog will be okay. Maker of Tastey scraps will see to it

"You want me guarding your place tonight?"
