"Not yet. Not until the Chieftain has let us know what she's found there." Kerri doesn't look like she's interested in budging on that.

"What will I tell Bruce?"

"Did you drive here?"

"I did" She says "I mean, he has his own car but.." She fusses

"Text him. Tell him you have a flat tire, but a friend is helping you fix it."

"oh goodness grace like I don't know how to fix a tire? I ..oh fine" She ttexts

"Of course you do, but he'd want to make sure you have somebody with you, at least, and you know it."

"Mmmph" a beat "Thank you" And texting she goes

"You're welcome," she says seriously. "Did you really just tell your sons to take care of each other? Nothing more?"

"AND their dad. I didn't put a heart. Or hugs. They'll notice that"

Kerri takes a deep breath and avoids face-palming. "Oh, yes. They'll notice. And they'll panic, most likely. After you finish that text to your husband, tell your sons that the Chieftain is on the way and she'll explain more. It's probably not a good idea to send it over text."

"Bruce sent back a confirmation" She says then sighs "Well I don't know I've never been in a situation like this before, not from a kithain. "
