“They’re on a quest!”

“Hupping on pawtrol IS thirsty work.” He admits.

"Yes, but I have so many questions, and probably only -they- could answer." Frank explains.

His ears perk. “But they are busy questing. You can’t interrupt.” And he brightens. “Maybe if there was popcorn, I’d have energy. Quests are hard work. Questions are hard, too.”

"But if you go now, you make them feel like they cant' do it"

"Well. I wouldn't want to do that, because I know they -can- do it. Hm. What are they doing? On the quest, I mean?"

"Uh.. Connor knows more"

“Awfully hungry work, hupping. And thirsty work, talking.”

A long sigh.

"I should probably make two kinds of popcorn and fix some drinks.... come to the kitchen and keep me company, boys?"

"He's famished!"

“I’m wasting away! You can see through me, if you squint!”

He trots agreeably into the kitchen!

"Yes.." And Jack follows "Thanks, Mountain. "

“Thanks a mountain!”

“I’m still sore from carrying all the armor, except the breast meat.”

"Armor?" as he starts to get the pots down and ingredients.

"I forgot to put snacks in the snackholders of her Plate!" He sighs

"Her plate... Dagmar took her armor to Renaissance?" He asks a question, but seems pretty sure that is the case. He grates cheese very fine into a large pile.

"Yup"

"She expecting trouble? A battle?" he measures oil into the pot.

“She’s going to fight a... BIG CHICKEN!”

Wide eyed and nodding.

Jack nods too

Measuring popcorn and turning on the burner. "Dagmar is going to fight someone who's afraid?"

"Oh no. That wouldn't be noble and brave."

He hops up onto a chair. "You know how dinosaurs all went into the dreaming? But then they got re-dreamt to have feathers?"

"And turned into .... Dagmar's going to fight a dinosaur in Renaissance???" he sounds... alarmed.

"Not really a dinosaur. That's silly." He giggles. "This is in person. Not in the dreaming."

"A feathered dinosaur... but it's in person. And bigger than a bookwyrm, and smaller than a Skallsnoot. So... it's a giant... chicken."

He clearly reasoned this all out.

"They keep it in a pit so it doesn't get away. That's how I know it's a Chicken. They can't fly!"

"Dagmar is fighting Abuelita at the Pit!?!?!" Yes, that was definitely alarm.

"OH Right..."

"It's just a chicken. Oh, don't let them burn..." Concerned, looking into the pot.

"Don't worry, Dagmar's the best knight who isn't like superold"

Frank shakes the pot as the kernels start to pop under the lid.

".... don't know who I'm more concerned about."

"She has her friend with her. Friendship conquers all, right!"

"I hope he knows how to tighten the greaves. And shine up the shoulders."

"Yup! They're the good guys, they GOTTA win" jack says "The good guys win now that I'm i nRIVERVale"

"And Jessica knows about this?"

"Maybe" Jack says reassuringly

"They went in her door, after all."

"And Vali mentioned Jessica especially."

A nod.

"He did?" Frank rumbles as the smell of hot popcorn fills the kitchen. "What did he say?"

A shrug, he tugs at his ears. "Hard to say."

"He talks a LOT."

"And then we wrote letters to Santa! He wrote his in FRANCE."
