Gerd groans

"Why would they expect us to learn this?"

"Learn what?"

"This Biology teacher, what's her name.. I think you had her? I'm getting counted off for SPELLING the names of the ... parts of a frog wrong? That's like two classes in one and it's not fair"

Grunt.

"She's a bitch, yeah. But she's not HERE, so spellcheck it."

"We're on the hONOR system. How am I supposed to back out on something called HONOR? Does this bitch have some weird gift for finding just how to throw a troll girl off?"

"Well, like you said - the test is on frogs, not spelling."

"Good point. Man, I thought joining high school woudl be fun ..and now I'm playing the world's most boring video game"

"Yeah." Sigh.

"This kinda sucks."

"It does" A sigh "I was supposed to be hanging around with the trouble making kids.. the cool kids. Wearing black, talking smack, vaping behind bleachers. Okay. I don't vape but you get the idea"

"Yeah, I do."

"And you shoudl be playing basketball, bragging about your horses, and hanging with Lupe and May talking aobut which teachers are out to destroy us all" A look at her work "I think I found one by the way"

"Yeah, well."

"I don't like doing it on a computer. It's so hard to follow what's going on..."

"I think you learn by doing things with your hands. Different style you know?" SHe says then she says "Hey, do YOU need help?"

Grunt.

"Oh you do. Why didn't you say so? I mean.. okay I'm a grade behind you, but you can get help.. we're supposed to help each other around here. You'd help us if I needed it. Which one is giving you the most trouble?"

"Class I mean?"

She chews on her lower lip and shrugs.

Now Gerd is looking at Dagmar's work to find out

Lots of scratched-out numbers - trig?

"Sally Mae!" Gerd calls out

Sally Mae peeks out of the kitchen "What on earth... Where's the fire?"

Gerd looks at Dagmar "We established early in our relationship that i can be annoying when I want to help. So this should not surprise you"

"What help?" Sally Mae says

Sigh.

"Video learning sucks for Trig it turns out" Gerd says "You should help her. I can take over kitchen duties."

Sally Mae raises a brow "And who will take over Gerd study?"

Gerd wrinkles her nose

"Gerd, it's fine..."

"More than," Sally Mae says "in fact" She DOES peek at the trig work then says "Dagmar, mind helping me in the kitchen?"

Lots of eyebrow, verging on frown. "Um. Sure?" She rises.

Gerd sighs wishing SHE Could go the kitchen

"And Gerd, you work on YOUR work please" Sally Mae says "And if I ken you flicker flashing out of here I'm telling your Uncle"

Gerd groans

Dagmar heads to the kitchen.

"Gerd means well" A sigh Sally breaks out the dough she was working on "Help me pound this flat will you " And names the size of the dough she needs

Grunt.

Pounding dough, though.... that she can do.

Possibly with a bit more force than absolutely necessary.

And Sally then says "Now, fold it at an angle like this."

"Whatcha making?" FOld.

"I'm experimenting .. though let me know if you want something like a perogie or salsa pocket while we experiment"

"Oh, I like perogies."

"You got it" And they make perogies, but.. Sally Mae insists on some very precise sizes, and odd angles "Now, how much will be left if I make three like this?"

Squint.

"Not enough for a fourth one."

"Right you are... " she says "And by the way, congratulations. Your'e doing Trig."
