Pancake smells

Sniff sniff SNIFF.... "Pssst, Jack! I hear flaps!" He calls up, poking at the top bunk with a toe.

Jack Snorts "mmm flapjacks?" One eye opens

“I hear maple syrup too!” He does have good ears.

"You can HEAR that?" He says getting dressed

"I can hear everything." He says solemnly.

"Spooky" the boy says

Jack FLap says "Come on, down the steps"

"There are 14 steps, I can smell each one with my eyes closed!" He grins, and scrambles towards the way down to breakfast.

"But can you skip em?" He does so leaping a few.

"I can!" He climbs onto the railing and attempts a slide.

"Heeyy no fair because I didn't think of it!"

And he slides, and starts to wonder what will happen at the terminus of the bannister.

"Whoops" And Siv snatches him up before he whams into anything "Hey, you trying to get me in trouble with your knight or sister? You go splat when I'm around they'll give me what for" But she grins

".... Yes!" He grins back!

"If there was no one around to go 'tectin', you'd start losing your blue."

"Oh, is that how it works then?" Siv grins "Was the slide fun? "

"Looked fun" Jack says, now a bit envious

"I dont' remember. You should try and let me know."

A grin over to Jack. "It's safe because Siv is here to stop the splats."

"Fine, your turn, Jack and then BOTH of you to the kitchen" Siv says

Jack grins and races up the stairs to take his turn

Connor beams! "Bet you can go fast enough to skip ALL the stairs!"

Jack takes the banister..and tries to zoom!

And Siv snatches him before he breaks something, like himself

"WHOOA" He yells

"There we go, " Siv says "Buncha little lions you are . Fearless"

"What if we add Quicksilver..." Starting back up the stairs

"What's going on out there?" Gerd sticks her head out "I make pancakes and no one cares?"

Siv looks at Gerd's scowlly face , "Come on boys, let's not insult the lady's pancakes"

"GERD-CAKES!' Connor cheers and turns right back around! "I thought you'd only make tea-cakes these days!"

"You fuzzy heathens get pancakes" Gerd smiles

"And bacon?" He ventures hopefully.

"If we're already heathens, bacon should be included."

"And bacon" Gerd says "Also, something called sausage. I have no idea if little squires like that"

"Snausages?! SNAUSAGES!" If anyone else had though to sleep in, Connor's cheers may have the effect of an alarm clock.

Jack says "I like bacon better"

"Yes yes" And Gerd motions them to the table "Plenty of both for everyone"

"You gotta make shepherds inna blanket." He demonstrates wrapping up a pancake around a sausage, and then takes a bite out of the end. "Nn den ou geff bouf fabors in un moufful."

Gerd says "Yeah yeah... Dont' forget to dip it in your syrup"

He pauses from lifting the syrup carafe towards his mouth, and nods. A bit poured on his plate and he dips with exaggerated delicacy. Swallowing, "If I was Thane Tiffany I'd lock you in her kitchen so that you can never escape and make pancakes all day long every day." Licking his lips.

"Thane Tiffany still can't cook so it's not a bad idea" Gerd says

"I could help teach her?" He offers, curiously. "I can make freezer woofles, and toasts. And maybe if my KNight takes me camping we can roast up weenies by the fireside, or catch fishes, or hunt a chocolate mousse."

"Oh, and I can find mushrooms, but only if I don't have to eat them. They're SQUISHY." His nose wrinkles a bit.

"Well, mushrooms can be dangerous" She says

"They make you grow big or give you extra lives." A nod, he knows his Plumber Lore.

Clearly

Siv eyes the pancakes "This just for little people or..."

"Here" Gerd serves her a platee
