The land line phone rings

"I've got it!" Sylvi calls and goes to answer. "King-Davidson residence, Sylvi speaking." The line she learned when she was about five has never left her.

"Uhm.. hi, is Sally Mae there?" A paniked voice

"Oh, um...hang on, let me check." She sets the receiver down and hurries to the kitchen. "Sally Mae?"

"Yes" Sally Mae turns putting away the last of the dishes "What's up, Sylvi?"

"The phone's for you. Somebody sounds kind of upset."

"I don't think I owe anyone money" She jokes or tries to but rushes to the phone "Hope it's not another heart attack..."

"Don't even say it..." Sylvi mutters, and she follows a few steps behind, curious but also wanting to help if needed.

And soon, Sylvi gets an odd half conversation "What do you mean the tractor has gained sentience? ?"

"Well, talk to the Mountain.. what do you mean he can't be found?"

"Sluagh in the shaman cabin?"

Sally Mae blinks "your sister is a WHAT?"

Sylvi bites her lip and decides backing away might be the right thing to do.....

"Well pull the plug of the web cam BEFORE She shakes her tatas I don't care if she IS wearing a mask.."

"What do you mean they had to pull Maude from the babies because she thought feeding them raw meat would tuffen .. a REDCAP??"

"Oh, wow..." she murmurs in reflex.

"Did you find Clem?" A pause "you can't find The Chief OR the Mountain.. or the HEARTH... or The Storm? Who's in charge over there?"

squabbled sounds

"Yes I know the gift of pan is scary but you'll survive it.. now answer the... what? The tractor? The tractor is the voice of reason at the farm?"

Sally Mae looks over at Sylvi and covers the mouth piece to say "We may have a situation at the farm"

then she says "Let me get this straight, over half the farm is Kinian.. and the kinain aint changed? Well, isn't taht your answer?" She says

"Um...yeah, sounds like." And she looks...guilty?

"What do you mean that's not the way it's done... damn it, Eugena... we're DeBukes too, put on the big girl panties and keep things going smooth as you... it's up to the kinian and.."

Though that last bit has her especially interested.

Then suddenly Sally Mae notices the .. look on Sylvi's face "Eugena. I'll be there in a moment. Gather the kinian together, and do NOT attack the sidhe there.. as they appear to be related. Give me ten.." Another look at Sylvi "Twenty minutes. And do not let the tractor make any important rulings"

And she hangs up

Sylvi takes a deep breath and squares her shoulders. "Okay, I can explain, but first know that it wasn't my idea."

"Talk fast" A hint of Hearth Authority. Sally Mae is not that much older, but boy she's learned that voice of authority from some pros

"Okay...the premise was that some people on the Farm could use a better sense of the value of other kiths...and kinain...and so they may have received some special cookies...."

"Cookies wait... the 'never want them in my kitchen again turned your mom into a sluagh' cookies?"

"Ummmm....maaaayyyybeeeee?"

Then a sigh. "Yes. Those. So you know they wear off."

"You said this wasn't your idea.. so far I'm not hearing who DID have this genius idea" A brow

She shakes her head. "That's not up for me to say, but I can tell you it was somebody with the best interests of the Farm in mind."

"Sylvi, if it weren't for the fact you are a DeBuke by deed I'd.. I'd.. oh.." Frustration "I have to go.. a formerly homogeneous hold is going bonkers . And I..." A thought "Wait. Yes that might work!"

A stubborn look, and then a slight grin. "What might?"

"The kinian will be doing the work, we can do it I have no doubt , but they're used to taking orders from trolls, but those trolls have to be DeBukes. Get your things. You may have to be Acting Chief Pro Tem until we sort some stuff out"

A large blink. "ME?"

"You know any other DeBukes that are currently trolls?"

"Uhhh....right. Okay. Be right there." And she barrels up the stairs to grab a few things.

"Move your tailbone no time for lolly gagging" She calls up after, then looks alarmed "Oh god. I sounded like Clem." A shudder

Sylvi grabs a bag, a quick change of clothes, her phone, her spear, and Flopsy. "I guess this was inevitable. I hope it's worth it," she says to him as she hurries back down.

Floppsy follows "Consequences. You hear about them, but never think they'll happen to you."

Rabbit humor can be a bit smart ass

She gives him a sneer.

And with supplies ready, Sally Mae heads off with them both "Okay, you know how to handle folks but to give you a few reminders of some of the troublesome ones..."

Sylvi nods and listens. Every little bit helps.
