A gasp. "Let's plant jelly beans! We can grow a jelly bean bush!"

"Would that work?" He ponders 'You know, it might work. We should try"

"Just not any licker-ish ones. Those are BAD."

"I bet Lily likes them."

"She probably does" He makes a face "Lickerish is like...the unflavor"

"Kerri has jellies in a jar but it's up on the shelf I can't reach. And the kitchen is a No-Hopscotch zone after that one time I knocked a shelf down." He sighs, much put upon. "The spice bottles that fell in the soup didn't even open up, so it's not even a FAIR rule."

"Sometimes I think she spends all day watching me 'til I find something fun to do, then makes a rule about it."

"She esPECIALLY doesn't like all my best ideas!" Though, he doesn't sound particularly upset - from his tone, he is very fond of the Hearth.

"Well, I could get it, I bet" he says

"Come on," and he peeks in the kitchen

"I can give you a boost if you promise not to leave hoof-marks in my shoulders..."

Jack smiles, "Boosts? I don't need no stinking boosts.." And he slips in.. looking for where it might be and checking with Connor

Connor hovers near the door, keeping watch.

A finger points at the glass jar up out of reach on a shelf. "That's not it."

"Bibibty bobbity, Gimmix grab, no hop scotching rules we now have, let the jar come on down, so we can can go to jelly bean town!" Glamour flows ... wonderful magic pops the top of the jar! And one Jelly bean flies into Connor's hand.

"Huh," Jack Flap says "it was supposed to get the whole J..."

There's a clattering rumble from the jar

PEW PEW! ZING! PING! VVVTT! TING! As Jelly Beans launch willy nilly like little sugary bullets!

Dishes get dinged, one glass breaks... a sugar bowl gets cracked

"What in the world....?!" Kerri's voice from down a hall, near the laundry room, and a familiar tread of Hearth-y feet.

"Yipe!" Connor GRABS Jack and pulls him back into the pantry cupboard under the sink

"Shhhhhhhh"

"RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" Jack Flap yells

Only to be yanked down into the cupboard under the sink

and he shushes

As all around the jelly beans contininue to richochet

In the dark, Connor blinks rapidly as his eyes adjust, then hands Jack a pot. "Helmet!" He has a soup turreen on his head.

The footsteps stop. "OH!" A sound of outrage. "Who did....ARGH!"

The pot goes on the boy's head. For once he's glad he doesn't have his horns yet

A green one swats Kerri on the arm

And then the beginnings of muttering and careful steps...then a broom makes angry sweeping sounds.

"Now, ENOUGH." Her voice is firm and authoritative. Unusually so.

A whisper tickling Jack's ear, barely audible. "Happy hearth..." He sounds a little frightened.

And the Jelly Beans stop, and behave.

Indeeed, those still in the air, fall to the ground as if subdued, or like dogs showing their bellies to placate

"Better," she grumbles. "When I find out who...." An unfinished sentence that ends in a huff, and there's more sweeping.

Jack tries not to swallow TOO loudly

A blurry Dag at the doorway. "Kerri? Wazzup?"

"Don't come in, Dagmar. Glass and jelly beans. Somebody seems to have gotten grabby about treats."

Arms wrap around Jack - protectively, or just seeking comfort. A small whimper.

Blink, blink. Nod. "Need shoes then."

"I'll have it in a minute, but yes, shoes would be wise. Are the others awake?"

Jack hugs back. A mutter whisper in the pookas ear "s like jurrasic park"

"Not yet... heard noise, yeah?"

Eden says "Whatever it is, I plead the sith"

"Well, I'm sorry you were woken up. Hang on a moment...." A pause...and a sort of swishing, hissing sound that's the tiniest of glass bits being caught up in a sweep of cantrip and safely disposed of. "There. Should be safe for feet now."

A sigh. "That's a lot of very good jelly beans in the trash." A bit louder and more pronounced. "It would be a shame not to have any for the rest of spring."

Jack manages to keep from gasping at this loss

"Dagmar, do you know the only thing that might help now?"

Eden is curious and peeks thjroug Dagmar's arm gap
