Oh my. A teenaged boy has a POWERFUL hunger. Ok, not troll-hungry but he might have kept up with Dagmar for a bit, anyway.

"This is great, Sally Mae." he compliments between mouthfuls.

"You like the pickles?" She said "And glad you like" She's had enough kin folk in her life to know teenage guys are worse than fireants on a swarm

"Mmph."

The sandwich is gone in very short time.

"Thanks....."

"You're welcome. Hope that will tide you over until meal time proper."

"Mmm........ man, Sally Mae." Admiringly. "Whoooo."

"Ok, so.... Chief's not back, but you have the 411 on what happened today. And when she's back, you'll ask her if I can talk to her?"

"Yes." She says "I've already left a note where she will find it"

A bright grin. "Thanks!"

"Hey, what's college like?"

"Intimidating at times, exciting at others, and sometimes, it gets tedious."

"Like how?"

"Well, anything you have to do over and over again can get tedious, particularly if you're not interested in it. But I AM interested in a lot of it, and that's exciting, as is meeting new people with different ways of thinking. Of course, new people can be intimidating too, but what's really exciting and scary is that it's all on me, ultimately. No one is MAKING Me to go to college. I can quit anytime... or screw up and get kicked out. So ..it's on me. For good or ill."

"That sounds amazing. I wish.........."

A tilt of her head

"You wish? To go to college? Not impossible, Adam. You're bright, and ambitious"

"Yeah, no, cool. I might go."

"Don't think I'll study math, though." Apologetically.

"Well, get your basics out, some times there are requirements- but if you need help and I' mstill around, let me know"

"You'd help me study?"

"Tutoring, yes. I do it for the girls. I don't see why not to do it for you." She says "As long as you'd understand it's tutoring, not some date. mmm?" Not unkindly

A cocky grin. "Can I pretend?"

"Keep the pretend in your skullcase" She says amused despite herself

"Oh, I can do that." He nods, engaging her eyes and serious.

Dag enters the kitchen, rosy cheeked and smelling of hay, about to go to the fridge... And stops dead. "Oh."

Adam freezes.

"Now, did you look over your taxi service .." The kinian troll turns "Hey, Dagmar. Would you like a sandwich or something?"

"Um. Not hungry. Sorry for intruding."

"No need to apologize. Adam's patrol just told me a few things. Might want to fill her in, Adam"

She chews on her lower lip, awkwardly shifting her weight.

"No, Sally Mae, sorry, patrol and tablet didn't mix." He glances at Dagmar. "I told Sally Mae what happened.... I can tell you, if you want?"

"What happened?" Well, she's not leaving, even if she is rather nervously lingering by the door.

He reports. A Sidhe visitor to the Lodge, something there about an owl. Dagmar knows about the Soup Can? He offers his details, how the Chimera sees itself protecting the store. And Miss Mimi who 'found' Connor in the store and got him to safety and the story he told about returning the puppy to his family. Also, Adam's mom is going to follow up with Mimi.

"Owl? That'd be Aesin..."

"Aesin?" Interested.

"Uh-huh, one of the late houses like Nadeen. They talk to animals..." Wistful.

"Oh, that's -cooooool-....."

"Maybe with this Mimi, Connor could visit? One of us could go with him?"

"They're scandinavian,. horning in on Troll territory if you ask me, but I wasn't going to say so where one can hear me"

"Totally."

"Uh.... I don't know where my mom left it? With Connor and Ms Mimi, I mean." Adam stands, and picks up his plate after a moment. "I can ask mom to let you know what the sitch is?"

"That'd be cool. I mean - if she was nice, and Connor liked her..." A shrug. "You know?"

"oh if only Connor didn't have that slipped Seeming... be nice for her to know the real him" She sighs

"Agreed."

"But, like, maybe he could muse as Buddy?"
