"yes," Nadeen says with a look at Dagmar, "But as a sluagh she.. my father would see her as vermin" Truth

"But he MADE her a sluagh."

"No, Adam did. Father just let him alter the world... I think. It's..far more powerful than I would expect"

"Dame..." Brekke addresses Dagmar quietly and makes a gesture for her to stop.

Dag quiet, but there is FURROW

Siv looks horrified, but keeps her yap shut

"Lady Nadeen, why do you think it is Adam who made her sluagh-kin? Would he not make her sidhe, as he himself seemed?"

"Well, she IS sluagh kin, so her blood may have more to do with it, but he was theo ne who made her fae.. I think.. even if only for a moment, only for a dream...but if what you say is right, then... he has found a treasure that is of great use, even if only from the Dreaming. " A lift of her chin, "Clearly we have to help my father. If he has what I think he has, then he can grant Adam the sidheness he wants and still haveh is own soul, and perhaps create for you a dozen new kithin from once mere mortals. At last, we can have friends and family made like us, increasing our population... empowering the Dreaming. We have a..duty to the Dreaming to help him"

Frank puts pen to paper, one finger on a book page to keep track as he writes on another page.

A blink. "And...you would help him in this goal. Let me be clear in what I ask: If he were to ask you to torture small Lily, would you do it to help your father enter this world?"

Dag's hands clench.

Brekke glances briefly at Dagmar, then back at Nadeen.

"Of course I wouldn't let him torture Lily. I wouoldn't even think of it " that last a lie. She considered... "But PAIN is the passage, not necessarily a sluagh's pain. The answer is obvious... we must find a way to prepare his path through...he needs one in great pain. Obviously, the moral choice is for it to be ME. You do not have the stomach for it, none of you, but I can find someone who is..expert at prolonging torture if I search, and I should survive it..."

Siv gapes and looks ready to say something , probablhy a kin to WTF?

Brekke's expression is rocky and still. "If it is that...then why has he not yet asked you to do so?"

"Because, my father can be foolishly sentimental." She says "And he has no guilt making a sluagh scream. He would a non sluagh, and he would HATE to use his daughter."

"But if I take the choice from his hand... then.. it is done"

Jaw-jut! Brow!

Her chin lifts

Frank goes to a bookshelf, quietly in his sock-feet; he searches for and finds a book, and leafs through it.

"Or...perhaps he can settle with entering this world without his power, as others have. To prevent his daughter's suffering."

Frank finds notes on such rituals, dangerous magic, possiblhy more Fomorian than Tuath

"But he can transform mortals...they can be more than our enemy they can be special" She says "Surely yoking the power of the mortals and then gifting them this is good for them and us?"

"You ain't gettin' tortured."

"Dagmar, don't be foolish. You are freed from your oath to protect me. And I am sained and of sound mind." Nadeen says "Who better than I? It's the only way that comes close to fitting Seelie honor for you all"

A blink. "Surely it is not. To me, it sounds like Rhapsody, or worse. You say 'yoking'...this is but another form of chains."

Frank lifts an eyebrow as he listens.

"Rhapsody burns out creativity, this would allow them to revereie along with the rest of us..." Nadeen says

Frank's notes indicate a treasure indeed has to be involved. Something powerful, and fueled. But why now? What's happened that makes NOW the right time to use such magics?

"He can come the regular way, and prove himself."

"Come , Chieftain... new trolls? How is this not a boon to the Barony?"

"He'd be a Count of House Varich, he'll do fine."

Frank clears his throat with a rumble. "Baroness Nadeen. You have said your father would hate to use your suffering to enter this world -and- maintain his power. As a father, I will tell you, you are correct. And your are correct that it is the only moral, the only -real- way to do this."

Brekke seems about to say something, but then glances at Siv and stops to listen to Frank.

"You cannot morally bring him here that way, and avoid his hatred." Calmly.

Siv hasn't said anything but she's trying to bite down on whatever

"Lady Nadeen...do you realized you just tried to bribe me?"

"Then, let him hate me," Nadeen says "My father... I promised him"

A frustrated look to Brekke, "Chieftain, I am trying to show you that it is a greater GOOD. "

"Perhaps...it is not your father."

"It could be some monster pretending... yeah..."

"And no, it is not a greater good. Such creation cannot happen without an equal cost, a great loss...." She trails off and frowns, something tugging at the edges of her memory, but....no, it's gone.

"Please, I have asked for so little," Nadeen says, "It is him . I know it. LEt me help him come through, not with half his power gone and his memory in shambles, but as a champion with full power..."

"I do not know it, Nadeen. And what you suggest is too great a risk, and too great a cost."

"I will pay the cost.I will do the risk. I am sained. I am my own. I have a right" She says, "Please, do not make me beg!"
