Sure enough, in the bedroom is Nab at the windowsill

"Hey." He drops onto the bed, flops back, and throws an arm over his eyes.

"Hey?" she turns "oh Adam. Did.. did it break up completely?"

"Yeah."

"I'm sorry... she has desire, it's just.. there's this ugly obstruction... did.. did she ever mention some guy taking advantage?"

Adam pauses. "Nab..... look, someone else's secret so you gotta keep it. Ok?"

"Yeah. Her mom's a junkie, she was in the foster system so her mom lost custody at some point. And she has ... marks. Scars. So I figure her not wanting touch....."

"Oh yeah. I knew she was a foster, but rough system" A frown "I think it maybe more than that, but.. you can't make her talk. She..she's very fragile."

Then a smile, "And you? you are a good guy"

A teen shrug. "Nab, you get it? Maybe her mom pimped her out, maybe fosters did her dirty, maybe she had to live on the streets and....."

"But we can't go back in time and make it right" Nab says with a sigh "And we have to be careful so she doesn't feel like 'she' is wrong. You.. you were a good, Adam. I'm proud."

He sits up slowly. And he's angry. But not at Nab. "Thanks."

"She already feels like that, she said it so many times."

"Damn." A sigh and the little imp paces

"I -like- her, Nab, I really do. But...." his color rises.

"But you want to hurt whoever hurt her"

"Yeah, of course. But...."

"Go on" She's listening

Nab looks at him, "You're not a heel."

He blows out air and flops back down. "Damn. Sorry. Just..... Trying to be solid for Dagmar and ... "

"Ordinary in that most people are better than we think. ie not monsters.. but yes, your'e also special in a lot of ways too. " A grin "most boys don't have smiles as nice as yours"

She gets one of those smiles. "Yeah?"

"Yeah" She leaps onto hsi shoulder and tussles his hair

"just don't get a swelled head"

she does giggle as she says it

"Too late." He mutters.

"Well, some of it is justified. You, sir, are going to make some girl very happy"

"Nab, I'm going to explode WAY before that....."

"Well, there is the sock method...but you'll need to do your own laundry" SHe says

Nab says "And, of course, I can bring you great dreams"

"Yeah, I know. And thanks."

A sigh.

"At least with Dag I had.... you know. Someone else?"

"Guess I'm a free agent now."

"Look, you'd be surprised but a lot of young women enjoy sex"

He gives her a look.

"They get horny too" She nods
