Ramona hides a smile

"I said I'd give her a ride home."

Ramona looks sheepish then says "Confession time. I live one block over."

Adam's jaw drops. "Oh."

"It was really sweet of you to offer. " Ramona says then looks to his mom, "You've raised a gentleman."

"He has his moments," Mrs. Thomas says kindly.

"Well...." He shrugs "Offer stands. It's cold out."

Then his mother looks at him, appraising, "Or you could walk with her, offer her one of our extra coats and then take the coat home when you turn back? Her mom and I might be trading recipes soon anyway or borrowing sugar so might as well get you to know the locale?"

"Oh, you're both very kind..." She eyes her jacket, "I'm afraid my jacket isn't quite cutting it this year. GOing to have to get a new one"

"I .... uh, yeah, sure. Ok." He gets her his own coat and puts on an old one.

His mom gives him a smile when Ramona isn't looking. Did she just set up a nice walk for two?

Ramona soon is wrapped up and ready to go.

"I'll clean up when I get back, mom, thanks!" He waves as they head out.

And out they go. Ramona walks along "Thanksgiving is next."

"Next holiday? Yeah."

"Yeah. I'm heading over the river and through some woods to see my grandmother, if you can believe it. Like the song?"

"Uh, it's ok, I guess. I mean, I don't exactly sing it a lot, right?" Another cocky grin.

"I get it.. I ..." She blinks "Oh wow... okay. Guess halloween is still on my mind" She blushes as an orange care drives by.

His fae sight shows it to him as a Pumpkin Carriage on wheels.

He kind of watches it roll past as well. "Uh. Yeah?"

" I swear for just a second mind you, that car didn't just look pumpkin orange it looked... " Then she skaes her head, "Nevermind, you'll think I'm nuts"

"Uh. Hey, you go to my school, right?"

"Yeah, though I don't think we have any classes together. " A pause "Do you take French?"

"Nah. Spanish."

"Yup. Definitely not the same classes..." She glances back at the road where the car was

"Same grade?"

"You a freshman?"

"....Sophmore."

"Then you're one up on me" She smiles "Big man on campus"

Still she seems distracted

"You ok? You see.... something else?" He grows worried.

"Just.... feel odd. I may have slept on my head" she trails a bit of...is that that glamour stuff... "Oh there's my house"

"Ok." He aims for it. "Hey, did Lily have any friends over?"

"While I babysat? No..though the way she talked to her doll I thought she had a ventriliquest act going"

"Yyyyeeeeeaaah....." slowly "You play any games with her? She's always trying to get me to play."

"We had tea" Then she gets to the door, "Thanks for the escort Adam."

The flickering is ending..she seems anormal girl in frumpy clothes

"Yeah." He tilts his head. "Yeah, welcome. And I'll see you at school, right?"

"Sure.. sure"

A grin. "You really do have a great laugh. See ya, Ramona." And he heads home thoughtfully.

"Thanks" Her eyes light up at that and ..more light... then she almost prances into her house.

Ok, he more saunters cockily than heads thoughtfully.

If our hero knew more about Changelings.. he might be worried for Ramona, but hey not his fault they don't always tell him things

He does get his phone out and texts Zane. ((bzzt)) Dude, you up?

TXT: Huh? Oh dude. Hey

((bzzt)) Can we talk? I gotta let someone know about something.

TXT: Give me uhmm.. 15 minutes? Where should I meet you?
