Siv looks for her dad.

And finds him laying on the Lodge floor with the dogs.

"Dad," She smiles at the sight, "is this because mom fusses when they get on the bed?"

"Mmm?" He looks up, thinks about the question. "No."

She bends down to pet the dogs, then says "Well, did you fall and you can't get up?"

"No." He seems perfectly comfortable.

Oak snuffles happily

Siv just can't stop smiling at the sight, "Well then, now I feel a bit like maybe I shouldn't ask about the evacuation plans."

"Plans?" Puzzled.

"In case the dragon comes through. And..well" more somberly "In case it comes here after all. Will you be up to flying the Kestrel while I take the Narwhal and we get as many as we can out?"

A groan, and all nine feet of him stands. "Now?"

"NO..." She inwardly curses having forgotten how... instictive he gets like this "Planning...ahead. In case. Is all."

A grunt. He thinks. "Fly Kestral? Maybe. Need... back up."

"Well, if I'm on the Narwhal i can't help you with the kestrel. Want me to ask around and see if I can find back up for you?"

He nods his great shaggy head.

She reaches up on her toes and kisses him on the cheek, "I'll handle it." And she will. Her parents seem ...restrained by their Unseelie natures, oddly. So it's time for her to step up. Siv knew she wasn't as good at this as anyone else in her family, but who else was there to do it? WWJD, Siv Ole Girl. What Would Jessica Do? Jessica would do the work

Frank is thinking.

"Practice."

"Uhm..what?"

"Let's go practice. Kestral."

"Dad.. I'll be on the Narwhal when it happens."

"But.. I guess sure..we can go out and take the Kestrel for a run"

He is pleased she gets it, and starts for the door.

And off they go.

Frank climbs aboard and gives it a good once over.

"Brekke."

"Yeah, we've been keeping it in good shape. " She looks it over

Then she looks about "Mom's not here"

He nods. "This....For her." And he starts to inspect the lines and gear.

"It's her ship" She agrees, "And she'll want it in good shape when she returns from having defeated the dragon"

A grunt. He -seems- to remember how to do this...

She nods and shows him if he needs help "Okay.. and we remove the restraints. You can order her up."

"Up."

Siv shows him anew how to steer the ship, "Slow an easy eh?"

Another nod. He concentrates, focused.

"Think of it as an extension of yourself if that helps. Men have scouted, hunted, and escaped on ships for as long as they knew how to make them. The ocean is not the plains or hills, or a jungle, and yet it is part of the wild. The sky can be the same. You will know to veil it , to use stealth and cunning to protect the pack of people trusting you"

Another grunt., acknowledging. His winter side is primal, but so is his dedication to helping others. He can do this. He will.

She words things as extensions of basic necessity.- Survival, Migration, hunting, and escaping being hunted. She moves and directs and shows him how to do the same.

There are time is the process she can sense amusement from him, directed at her.

She gives him a look, "You have only yourself to blame if I'm coming across as too PBS, dad." but a smile, "Okay. Nice. I still want to train someone else to back you up. "

He nods gravely.

"But good work, dad. You've got a good awareness for wind currents"

Grunt.

"Let's take her down again. I'll double check dry food stocks"

"Down." He orders.

And it goes, his hand on the keel. His daughter working.

And back on the water, floating.

"Nice work, dad" she smiles.

He nods.

"Hope this unseelie side pases soon for you and mom"

A frown.
