And Sylvi waits at the dock.

TXT: Fine. But if you and Colton are eloping or something else lovey stupid I don't wanna be a part of it

And then shortly...

at the dock

"Hey"

"Totally not eloping, but Colton will be part of the picture. So will a bunch of others."

"OKay.. listening" she offers Sylvi one of the cheerleader's favorite snackbars

"Figured if I brought one for me I should bring one for you"

"Ooh! Thank you. Haven't eaten much today." She accepts the offering. "So, okay...going on a quest. We're going to help the three against Skallstrike, but I don't want the grown-ups to know many of the details." And she fills Gerd in.

Gerd sits down on the dock "Wow. Damn, Sylvi. I... " A frown "What if someone needs me her to flash folks to safety?"

"Welllll....yeah, that's the thing. I think we might need you to do the same." She thinks. "Vali had a vision...but he didn't mention you specifically."

"Great so.. who is on the list again?"

"Okay, so...me, Colton, Dagmar, Zane, Symon, Dirk, and you. And Adam guards the rath."

"If I can't help..who would you pick to go instead?"

"Um..." She thinks. "Maybe...hm. Maybe Eden? Pooka can often be helpful being unseen. Or...oh! Jimmy....but then there's the bit about only taking one thing from the hoard, and I'm not sure he could keep himself from pinching the amber tear...."

"Do NOT take a piskie to a dragon's hoard" Alarmed

"Yeah, yeah, danger-danger, I get it. So...I don't know. We don't need to have seven, but it seemed to be a good mix of people and skills. I mean, I see your point, too, about helping with the evac. That's why Siv isn't coming with us...she needs to be available with the ships."

'Well, that makes me feel better." She ponders.

"I think I can go... but ...yeah. I think I can go."

"You can?" Sylvi smiles. "Perfect!"

"Yeah. I think I know someone who can help almost as much as I can with the evac"

"Anybody I know?"

"nope. Other wayfarers.. especially ones who have mastered Flickerflash. The Society is very picky"

Sylvi blinks. "There's...a society? Of Wayfarers?" Then a dubious look. "You're messing with me."

"My dad would have told me!"

"Really? your dad walks the trods. I don't need to." Smug brow

"The Rovers are essential though. for you walkers"

She mimes blowing on her knuckles

Sylvi rolls her eyes briefly. "So who else is in this society?"

"Sir Bachdion... " She says "Among others. Earl DeBuke"

"I didn't know you knew Sir Bachdion. I've seen him at EarthRunes. Haven't really spoken to him."

"But anyway...cool...you're the last. Not sure when we'll go, but it'll probably be without a lot of warning. So stay ready, right?"

"I will" she nods "See you around, Sylvi. I'll be ready when you call."

Sylvi gives her a thumbs up, then heads back towards the Lodge, walking the walk of the confident leader.

a smile, and she texts.
