Frank nods. "Ok."

A tense stillness, like a defendant waiting for judgment.

Frank nods, looking at the pan. He tilts his head. "Do you want to give it to me, or put it down?"

"I..." A pause. "What are you going to do with it?"

Olgar sighs

Frank watches her steadily.

Frank has ENOUGH magic something says in Kerri's mind

She looks from one to the other. "What? I have a good reason to ask. This could be a useful tool! And Mountain, I'm asking your counsel, not your judgment." A stubborn look.

Olgar looks worried and this time doesn't hide his worry from frank

Frank blinks. "Ok. No judgement, only my counsel. I only want to know if you-want- to give it to me, or put it down. Or, I guess, hold it."

"Which would you rather do?"

"Well, I don't know yet. Because you skipped right past counsel and went to final outcomes. Can we at least talk about this, first?"

"Of course. Go ahead." Frank says softly, gently.

"Look...this..." she points at the pan "...gives us an incredibly rare advantage if we ever face nobility that aren't well-disposed towards us. Commoners don't usually have access to Sovereign. But here it is! It's...how can we just ignore the fact that this is a rare gift!"

Frank nods. "You're right."

"We shouldn't ignore this gift."

Olgar says "I'm not sure Vali agrees"

Another hard look at her husband.

"Vali is wise beyond his years. But he's not here now."

"Nope. He's not." Olgar looks at his wife "Tell him about the warning, would you?"

"No...but..." A sigh.

"There was a warning?"

"I'm getting to it!"

"Take your time, Kerri. It's fine."

She glares at both of them a moment, and...something flickers in her expression...but then she shakes her head and steps back before continuing. "Vali had a vision. One of his Togail visions. Of me putting on a copper crown hard, and...the crown growing thorns and...hurting me."

Frank nods. "And a copper pan seems.... a good fit. As it were."

Olgar sighs and looks at his wife "I'm with you babe, but if thing is ..draining away your kindness..."

"But...as I was explaining to Olgar...that's because I was trying to push the learning! I was trying to learn, hard and fast, so we'd have an advantage when the Dragon comes. But if I slow down again...don't try to learn too fast...then it's just a helpful tool. A good tool."

"That's only if I try too fast, Olgar," she insists.

"That's your take on it," Olgar says.

"And I'm not sure that's ... " A deep breath "Frank. When I tried to touch it, it tried to burn me."

A frown, but she can't deny it.

Frank nods. "Ok. Tell you what, Olgar, bring the whiskey and let's all go out to the living room."

Olgar grunts and retrieves it.

"Let me lock this up...." She picks up the pan and puts it in its cabinet.

As she grabs it, she realizes she could possibly make them SEE , demonstrate how useful it can be... they won't argue with her then

Frank watches.

She freezes, her back to them.

She turns and looks at Olgar, and keeps her gaze on him, a bit smug, as she slowly puts the pan in the cabinet, closes the cabinet doors, and locks them.

Olgar knows that look. The I can stop any time I want look. Though he hasn't often seen it on his wife.

He nods. "Whiskey in the living room, then."

"Right" Olgar says

His own expression? Sure. Sure you can.

Head held high, Kerri goes out into the living room.

Frank follows.

Olgar follows after.

"So. Olgar, would you pour us a round?"

"Sure" He does.

Kerri takes a seat, sitting very straight-backed and tense.
