"Yeah, Ann Marie keeps trying new things with it. The problem is that it's so TOUGH that I have trouble eating it, but last thing I want is for her to try to make it into a pudding or a slurry or god forbid a smoothie. I put some in the garage to soften up, if I can manage to get to it before the smell gets too bad."

"Calamari Hot Dish..." He shudders.

"oh now i kind of want to see a squid smoothie" Gerd looks tempted "Sure I can't tell your mom of your 'amazing' idea?"

"...ew."

"Only if you drink it too."

"BLah. Pass"

"Wuss." He grins. "So do we want to try to dive straight in to the seas of Krynn, or does a trial run sound safer? Maybe there's a mythical earthly sea we could try for first to see what the boar thinks of that. Hm. Does it actually THINK you think?"

"You'd have to ask Siv" Gerd says

"Well... we could jump to a close fictional sea, then if it works, jump to Krynn?"

"I'm in no matter what we try. I'm so far behind on the questing compared to some of you it's sad"

"There's always the Midgard ocean. Probably based on real world Nordic oceans, except this one surrounds Midgard - earth - in norse mythology and is in turn surrounded by the Midgard Serpent that bites his own tail and keeps everything contained. That's supposed to be PART of earth but is also mythical so it might be a good trial. Although I'd be damned sure we didn't look like we were on a Dragon Hunting expedition if we got anywhere near THAT beast."

"...Hey, I betcha Mjolnir would kill a dragon..."

"Didn't it kill the word serpent? or. .is supposed to?"

"Exactly!"

"If we killed this one - BIG if... all the ocean surrounding midgard would go rushing out and who knows what would happen?" Although, now he is... is he actually working through it in his head? An amused look.

And, now he's in a rabbithole of research on his phone... a chuckle. "Lovecraft would like this bit... Loki turned the serpent into a giant cat to try to trick Thor... heheheheh..."

"Sounds like him, sure..." And she moves, reading over his shoulder.

"He's diabolical, but in a good way" She says "Symon, not loki"

That meant as a whisper to Dagmar. Symon can hear it.

...Loki goads Thor into lifting the serpent disguised by magic in the form of a magic colossal cat. Thor grabs the cat around the middle of its belly but is unable to lift such a monstrous creature as Jörmungandr. He manages to raise the cat high enough for only one of its paws to lift from off the floor. Útgarða-Loki expresses how the result was expected and later explains his deception.

He acknowledges Thor's lifting of the cat as an impressive deed as he stretched the serpent to where it almost reached the sky. Many watching became fearful when they saw one paw lift off the ground. If Thor had managed to lift the cat completely from the ground, he would have altered the boundaries of the universe"

He grins slightly, but doesn't otherwise acknowledge that he heard Gerd.

"Well, Midgard might be good or BAD for trolls depending on how you look at us.. but sure"

"Then again, the awakening or killing of the midgard serpent is one of the heralds of Ragnarok... so probably a bad idea to play that game at least until we finish with the first Dreadnaught headed our way."

"Agreed."

"Huh. Coo.." A text "Oh snot. I gotta go. Sorry. Keep me posted. " And she vanishes.

just.. off she goes with nary a moment to tell folks beyond that.

"I swear, wayfare is cheating."

He starts a bit, and glares at the empty spot as he gathers the papers he dropped. "Totally cheating. But only because I can't do it."

She helps him gather, then takes some to read.

He settles in to work on his note-taking, glancing up now and then to see how she's doing on Dragons of Autumn Twilight. "Let me know when you get to the good part... you'll know it." And spends a few content hours, or however long they remain undisturbed, in studying that DOESN'T suck.

She enjoys the company, and Symon is good for just hanging out without needing a lot of conversation.
