He snaps his fingers and points to her, " Bingo. A dragon coming to threaten, and a dragon-slaying weapon that can be forged by using a hammer called the Hammer of Honor, by one with a Silver Arm... " He glances up at them. "Do you believe in coincidence? Because I'm starting to doubt that all these things would fall in line that easily if da'an didn't mean something by it."

"Wait, you're saying our crazy idea is meant to be?" Gerd grows serious

"So.. if we don't find a lance, maybe we can find an Honor-hammer for Chief?"

"Not necessarily... but where the coincidence lives, and young heroes dare to tread, da'an may decide to follow the path laid out and cause it to become truth..." A shake of his head, looking slightly embarassed at his slight poetic lapse.

"So, you're coming with us - right?"

"I don't think the Chief knows how to smith though" A brow knit, then a smile at Symon being forced to be a bit lame himself

He blinks a bit, and ducks his head. "Well, I didn't think you'd want me there. I'm a liability in the field." Slightly embarassed, but stating it as fact.

"No, you aren't. You were super helpful against the nutter in the Pine Barrens."

"And none of us know D&D like you. You'd recognize all the tricks and traps."

"We need a rogue, doofus" Gerd says helpfully

"Well, if you don't think I'd get in the way or hold you back." To Gerd, "Even Rogues need Strength and Con at least tertiary. They're both dump stats for me. I'm more of a Barbara Gordon."

"Gordon's ALIVE?"

"Maybe you won't be so lame i nthe Dreaming?" She offers helpfully

Her 'helpfully' might be a bit blunt

"Well... we'll protect you in a fight." She shrugs.

"I'm strong, and everybody says I'd be even stronger in the dreaming. And if you are fast and sneaky enough, you can hide in combat."

"See, there it is." He pokes at her. "if you have to protect me, you're distracted from the mission. But, yeah, I can hide." Nodding thoughtfully.

"But, here..." He unloads the rest of the books from the bag - REAL books! Library copies it looks like, with passages marked with sticky post-its that won't damage the paper. "Even if you haven't the time to read the whole things, I'd skim over here... here... and.... ah, here. Maybe there are points I missed. But what it comes down to, is you can forge at least a LESSER Dragonlance with either the Silver Arm of Ergoth, or the Hammer of Kharas. You need BOTH for a Greater. I'd say if we have to look for only one thing, it should be the Hammer, but both if we could find it, in case my supposition about the Chief's arm doesn't play out."

Stubborn jaw. "Well, I want you there. Brains of the operation."

"Yeay, think of the time lost if we go chasing after a redherring?"

"THAT is why you'd be useful, well, that and other stuff"

"Hm. I suppose." He glances up, having suddenly gotten lost in a passage. "It IS too bad that we can't just use a dragon orb to control the thing... but if the tales about this being a huge elder wyrm are true, there's just too much risk in it overpowering that kind of thing. And as much as I wish I was, I ain't no master magius."

"Though you would make a great Raistlin" Gerd says

A grin to Gerd. "Only if Dags is being Caramon. Later season Caramon, when they stopped writing him as a dope and made him a beast in battle."

"Who?"

"Yeah. " She says "She's definitely a battle beast"

"What?"

"Raistlin and Caramon are twins... and no, you two don't really match because for one thing... Raistlain was cooler than Symon... and you're probably smarter than Caramon.. though he was never as stupid as his brother said. They are a FORCE together in the books though"

He grins and presses 'Dragons of Autumn Twilight' towards Dagmar. "Give this one a go. The first quartet is pretty boss."

Eyebrow but an easy shrug. "Okay, I'll read it." A pause. "If you come."

"I thought Goldmoon and Riverwind ended up dissappointing, it's like the writers were like 'yeah they're awesome' and then it got kind of.. blah?"

A nearly soundless snort. "Yeah, as long as I finish my math homework in time." He gives her a thumbs up. "Fine, it's a deal. But you're not allowed to leave my corpse back there if I kick it. Promise you'll at least haul it back and set me up as a Halloween Decoration if something ganks me."

"Scarecrow could help the garden" Gerd chimes

"Easy promise, sure."

"I will spook beyond death forever more." He wiggles his fingers in a spooooooky manner.

Gerd smirks "Can we pick your targets?"

"I am an equal opportunity scare-er. But if I'm down to bones and sinew? Sure, just point me the right direction. And don't let dogboy chew on me. OR Dirk."

"Ha!"

"Here's a list of other things we should keep an eye out for, if we happen upon a dreaming Krynn-equivalent. A longsword with a gem in the pommel reminiscent of a fallen star - that one's cool, it makes enemies so jealous to have it that they get distracted and - " -throatcutting motion.

"Well, you heard about Siv's new boat?"

"It Sinks.. on purpose. But don't word it that way to her, she gets huffy and says 'it doesn't sink, it dives'"

He blinks. "I think someone mentioned that. I thought that the Kestrel was practically hers anyways, but a new boat is cool." A mutter. "I can't even get a bike.."

"Hmph. We could work on that..."

"So - she has to name a sea, and it'll go there. But there's seas on the map..."

"Cool vehicles are for winners, Symon" Gerd jokes lightly.

"Of course, there's Newsea off Ansalon, that's the main one..." Then he gives a started glance up. "Wait, has she TRIED this on a fictional sea yet? Last thing we need is to try for somethign that might not exist and get lost in the dreaming."

"Well... we went to the Dreaming and back..."

"There was a squid?"
