"She's got balefire, without balefire she'd probably starve" Lester sneers

Dirk scratches his head "No, she wouldn't.. the others wouldn't let her. They'd share with her... long enough forh er to muse or something"

Brekke nods. "Had you come to me, explained your need, I would have granted you a night before the balefire. That is part of my role."

"A cap?" Snaptrap scoffs.

Dirk rolls his eyes "She done it for me ,Dumbass."

"That why you're her pet?" Snaptrap sneers at him.

And the morningstar starts to rise, as Dirk says "Pet this!"

"He is not my pet." As demonstration of this, Brekke does absolutely nothing to stop Dirk.

The morningstar slams down between Lester's legs and Dirk goes "BOO!"

The already hurting cap cries out as he hurts his leg more scrambling back.

"Pussy," Dirk says, "You act like I aint' a cap? Why you forget then? Caps don't go for the kill when they can go for the terror? I'm not goinna kill you. I'm gonn watch you wet yourself while the Gwyd does her thing"

Brekke frowns but let's Dirk be Dirk....then nods to him before she approaches and crouches down before the captive. "Hold still."

A glance to Dirk. "Get behind him. Hold his head."

Dirk moves to the back and grabs theo ther cap's head"He can'tbitecha"

She looks angry and grim, scowling deeply.

A brief nod, and while staring Lester in the eyes, the grabs his wounded leg and squeezes, HARD....to the point where the cap might be worried she's going to crush it completely.

THe fellow cries out in pain

The injuries heal, and the cap, from fear or pain, faints!

"Oh my god that was AWESOME" Dirk grins

"Mmph." She wipes her bloody hand clean on the cap's clothing before she stands. A quick look around. "Between us? That was very satisfying."

A grin, Despite his own wounds DIrk seems ready to go "Want me to haul him into the hold or somethin?"

Brekke gives Dirk the once-over, then nods. "Do. He is your prisoner, Peacekeeper. Keep watch over him until he wakes...and do it from beside the balefire. How badly are you hurt?"

"Got a knife wound on my arm and a bite that onlhhy scrapped on my shoudler. Dont' worry... Aint' gonna have a limb fall off like Squire colton." And the boy grabs the other boy and hefts him up, fairlhhy strong himself "I got this. You go do Chief stuff or whatever until you want this asshole again"

A nod. "Report to Hearth Kerri about the situation, and the Mountain if he is there. I would also be interested in hearing your thoughts on appropriate punishment for him. Punishment should fit the crime. Think on that." A pause. "Good job, Dirk."

"THANKS, you know... I think maybe one day I'll become a cop . I mean, they can flat out MURDER PEOPLE they don't like and get a paid vakay. I got a talent for this" And off he goes... a living example of the term 'work in progress'

Leaving Brekke to do 'chief stuff'

Siv comes in late. Fussing with her hair and hoping no one makes a big deal about it.

Brekke sits by the balefire, nursing a coffee. "You are late." An observation, not an accusation.

"Ah, yes.. ah, " with as much dignity as she can muster "Bancroft and I talked.. he...tried to persuade. He didn't fully persuade me, but i really did like the ..the effort he put into it. "

True!

An eyebrow. Then she points to a nearby seat. (There may or may not be an unconscious redcap by the balefire....) "Tell me more about the conversation?"

She sits down, "Well, even before the Angry Gin situation, He wanted me to move to HIbernia to live with him. And mom, before you panic. I said no tonight...to the moving with him I mean. But mostly he.. showed me how mcuh he missed me. And I showed him the same... but oh mom, it hurts to let him go." Tears threaten to well up, "DId you know he got a Suicide Palm? It's like one of the rarest trees on earth... and how he got it? Because Aunt Kerri tried this lie... I think she was off her game, and he knew it and he did it anyway."
