Dagmar frowns and chews on a hangnail.

"Dagmar? Do you want to go check on Stormwake?"

She nods.

"Good idea" Olgar says "Did you take the saddle and briddle off?" To Nadeen.

"I was abducted by Dirk before I could" She says

"Go do it, then. And maybe you can give Nadeen a lesson in how to clean out a stall."

((Last to Dagmar.))

"Nadeen, want to come help? And meet him properly..."

Nadeen nods "Yes. I should. And...I'll eat later."

Dirk is already shoving food into his face.

Kerri sits back down. "Thank you, Dirk. Good job. But we're not going to be hanging anybody if we can help it."

"See, first thing you gotta understand is that Stormwake isn't a horse, not exactly..."

"He's a fae steed.. I have heard of them" Nadeen says as she follows

Dirk says "Thanks..and bummer. When do I get to gut someone and claim they looked dangerous? You know, like the cops?"

"Right, but he's smart."

"So I don't know if anybody could ride him he didn't let ride, y'know?"

"I suppose..just once I'd like to command something and not have to explain myself..." The sidhe pouts a bit.

Though perhaps Kerri might relate.

"Is that a sidhe thing? Like... like how trolls just get all overwhelmed about protecting shit?"

Olgar motions to his wife "Go , hot soak... I'll do kitchen clean up"

Nadeen says "It varies. But yes, sometimes I see the world is a mess and I just need to rule it." Half joking..and quoting dr. Horrible

"You're sure?" What she doesn't say is that she'd rather do it herself because he always puts things away just slightly wrong...but honestly, the hot bath sounds too tempting right now. "Well...okay. Thanks." She stands and gives him a light kiss.

"Sure I'm sure" He kisses her. And he'll try extra hard to night to get things right. Which means, of course, that it'll still be slightly wrong but maybe less so than when he's not focusing

Hearth Kerri follows Rover orders and draws a hot bath. Sometimes her husband has a good idea or two.

"Well... plenty of messy stuff." She agrees.

Olgar gets to the kitchen.

Nadeen sighs "He's such a beautiful horse... his lines...."

"He is. Just amazing. But he's the Chief's."

A nose wrinkle and Dagmar goes with her to the finished Stable . It's GORGEOUS! She..hadn't seen it set up yet. The wood , originally from fallen timber that occured naturally by age or lightning strike, well she worked with some of that, but she hadn't been there for the last part. It's big enough for four horses! And Tove and Brekke's wood carving designs are through out the shutters and frames!

"Wow... amazing they got this done so fast, ain't it?"

"They had to use cantrips to help" She agrees.

In the corral stands Stormwake. His ears perk at their approach.

"Musta." She heads to the fence and climbs the bottom rail. "Stormwake!"

Stormwake trots over leisurely and looks down at her.

Yup. He's outfitted for riding.

He flicks at ear towards Nadeen.

"I don't think he respects me" Nadeen says sullenly

"He is a very proud horse. He does not know you."

"Stormwake, we're going to come in and get you out of that gear. And Nadeen is going to apologize."

"I am?" Nadeen says

She nods. "Yeah. Because you assumed he was just a horse."

"He is a.." She clamps down takes a breath and says "Stormwake, I apologize if I gave offense. You are such a magnificent beast, who would not be tempted to have you share a ride with them?"

A nod

from the horse. Stormwake clearly understands

"He's a smart horse."

"Yes, it's the fae blood...I know, but. " She sighs "Well , we Varich do like a challenge at times."

She reaches out to pat Stormwake's neck, resigned. "Well... you

you'll get a chance to get to know him by helping out."

"Do you know how to ride? I mean, sometimes I remember, like.. but I'm not really much of one."
