"A...cluster?" She frowns. "Is she home?"

"Upstairs I think, she's trying to hide more while it's there. I TOLD her sunlight is actually what she needs but ooo scowly"

Brekke stays frowning a moment, then, "Siv, I wish to see her. Will you excuse me? Or...you could join us."

"If this is about the zits, best only one of us goes or she'll feel on show." Siv says

"I will, then. Excuse me." She rises and heads up the stairs to knock on Gerd's door.

Siv nods "of course"

Gerd's door has been painted dark. A voice answers "Yes?"

Brekke wonders whether that's actually paint, or if the Lodge itself is responding to Gerd's mood. "It is the Chieftain. May I enter?"

"Uhm yes sure" Shuffling... last minute clean up sounds

Brekke opens the door slowly to allow for the last hiding of mess, and enters the room to stand just inside the door to look around.

It's dim with odd blue lighting meant to look you know.. cool... Gerd is there and yes, she had a bandana on her head

Brekke frowns, but tries not to do so too deeply. "It is a beautiful day outside, Gerd. Perhaps you should come out in the sunshine for a bit? The light in here is very dim."

"I like it dim" Gerd says

A nod. "Then that is fair."

"Did you want something Chieftain? Or are you ...here to tell me the sun is out?"

Brekke considers the girl and her headgear for a moment, then nods toward her. "Tell me of this fashion choice."

"It's not working is it?" She says miserably, "I have the big dipper on my head.. only instead of stars, its zits. "

"It does not look unattractive, the bandanna. But it is different, and therefore I ask. However, I will now ask you to take it off so that I may see this constellation."

The girl sighs, removes it, and even turns up the lights. Lord,, yeah.. that center most one looks like an extra horn in the making

Brekke comes close and touches the girl's chin to angle her face so she can get a good look. She tries to determine whether this is more likely acne or disease rash or something more arcane. Even a bit of kenning, there.

Looks to be mother nature at war with a teen body, but not a diesase. Just zits

Brekke nods. "All right. It is not pleasant, but it does not appear dangerous. You have washed, gently?"

"I've washed it and put this zit cream on it Uncle Vali got me. For once, he's not joking." Pure gratitude in the girl's tone

"Mm. That is a kindness of him. Gerd...this will pass. Be patient. And if the bandanna helps you feel comfortable, please use it, but you should also allow some air and light to get at it."

"So ...is it crowded out there on the porch right now?" Dubious "I don't want everyone to be staring"

"They may look, Gerd...but sometimes we must endure looks to do what we must do. However, no, it is not crowded, or was not when I came up here."

"I guess I can go then.... oh, is Aunt Kerri avoiding Vali for some reason?"

A blink. "Avoiding Vali? I..." A frown. "Is she?"

"I think so... not sure. "

"Hm. I think...there were some words between them just before your ceremony. Perhaps that is something to do with it."

"Yeah. Well, if it's about me, maybe I should talk to them. I need them both. Aunt Kerri because she's a fashion wizard and more.. and my Uncle Vali because he's my closest family and always there for me. If they're being silly because of something about me I wish they'd stop, stuff like this.." Gesturing to her forehead "is hard enough" For a moment her slightly matter of fact mildly put out tone sounds very much like Vegard.

Brekke nods seriously. "It is. And perhaps you should speak to them, yes. Would you like me to send them both up here? Or will you seek them out?"

"I'll seek them out. " She says getting a stubborn look. "Thank you. " SHe takes the bandanna off and says "And I'll meet them on the porch in the sun. Might as well get more than one thing done right?"

"Very wise. Well, I shall allow you to begin. Thank you for speaking with me, Gerd." She turns to leave the room.

"Thank you, Chief"...Gerd rises up, and walks down patting her new mace. First, to Vali's small room which is near hers and much smaller as it was split to make hers.

Brekke heads downstairs and clears away her plates in preparation for a patrol.

Siv says "Need company?"

"If you wish, you may join me."

The crunch of footsteps on gravel.

"I do wish" and out Siv rises "Oh."

Frank steps in, still careful after all these years, and bends to unlace his boots.

"Ah, Frank! We pass briefly...I am just on the way to patrol."

"And I was going with her." Siv says

"Oh. Well." He pauses, bent, half-unlaced.
