To be fair, this goes a lot quicker... the brambles had to be sought out, picked up one by one... here she just PUSHES and makes sure she doesn't leave any gaps, and with her muscle? That's fine. It's not a riding mower, but it's a good one on loan from the lodge and muscle she's got.

She's kind of glad she got that water though.

And while she tries not to get distracted while working, a part of her mind tries to guess where the chimerical winged wolf family went. Only one guess comes to mind... the wood. The same one where Klump and others dwell.

She doesn't rush, per se - not so much as to do a bad job, but she's pushing it, eager to fnish.

WIth one nasty clump of weeds she learns the price of eagerness... it stalls the mower, and she has to pull that stupid cord again

Why does Time seem all the more precious when you find yourself forced to back up even a little?

"Oh, come ON." Grumble, grumble.

Fortunately, with her muscle, the cord is no trouble and it's roaring again... okay, ... little more finese, little slower.... no one should have let these get THAT tall ...

and finally, done.

Triumphant, she knocks on the door. "Got it, Mrs. Bayville!"

"Well, let's see..." She looks over everything with a deliberate scan then "That looks great, tahnk you so much. Here..." SHe hands over thirty dollars. Hard won!

"Let me know if you want to come back next month " She says

"Sure! Give me a call when you're ready, or I can just plan on... uh... two weeks?"

"Two weeks seems awful soon" She says. Does she not realize it could be a jungle again in three? "But ok"

"yes ma'am. Thank you!"

She knows better than to sass.

And at least now she's 30 bucks richer, and free to pursue interests.

Of course, the hard part is not spending money on things... got to hold on to it until she gets the two hundred and fifty

Which means no movies...

A sigh as she pushes the mower home.

Dirk is on the road, possibly being an asshole and eating mail boxes... though no one could prove it was him.

"Hey."

"Hey, what's with the mower?" He says a bit dimly

"Makin' money."

"that's cool" he says then "What do you need cash for? "

"Why else? To do stuff."

"Wel.. duh" he says "I meant WHAT ... because if it's like something in a store I can help distract em while you five finger it"

"Nah. It's a camp thing."

"Can't steal a camp."

"Nope.." He admits "But you can kill the campers one by one while wearing a hockey mask"

Perhaps missing a point here.

"Well, sure. But I'd rather go and do the stuff."

"Oh.. okay. Well, I know you like the woods.. oh wait, this is that basket ball camp thing. Lupey tole me"

"I like the woods, too, but yeah. Two weeks! Real pro coaches!"

"New York Liberty," He nods. Oh Siv should feel ashamed, DIRK knows them

"Uh-huh! Did you know that Han Xu is 6'9"?

"Geez.. troll blood in that one maybe" He says, no he didn't know. "Hey, you're wanting to make money right?"

"I'm thinking maybe a couple of them? We'll see."

"I got 20 bucks on me... tell you what, save you some mowing. How about I pay you now, and next time I get in trouble? you cover for me."

"Um, no."

"Ah shit, would have been great to have a Gwyd in my pocket, even for a one time" A sigh

"Sure, but how can I know what you are gonna do? So, yeah. No. Hey, the Wayburtons need a mower?"

"You kidding, they got Zane. And HE's got a riding lawnmower"

"Uhg, fine. Cheater."

"What can I say, the Wayburtons are well off. Heard THEY considered adopting you. Man you could have had it so easy. "

"Yeah, well."

"Huh. Bet Symon doesn't mow, no way..."

"With his Asthma? NO... he's keel over and die..." A snort.

"Cool. So I'll ask her if she wants to pay me."
