To say the school administration is not pleased by the 'ice theft' incident is putting it mildly. Their infamous meatloaf seems to be the regular meal now, as if wanting to find a way to punish those involved.

"You know," May pokes at it, "I have actually had GOOD meatloaf but..."

"This aint' it" Jimmy pipes up.

"Xactly" May pokes again "oh god. I think my fork is trying to dodge it."

"Well, maybe they should have fixed the AC first. Or cracked a window." Harrumph.

The good news appears to be that news of the incident drew public attention not just to that, but to the AC being out. The school had to fix things overnight, and that might cost some of the budget but hey, the adminsitrators can get their offices repainted NEXT year

Lupita nods "Never doubt that"

It so was...

indeed, the student body can endure meatloaf if it means this victory, and Dagmar, who has learned a bit about musing, notes that some of the kids seem more hopeful than before, more inspired!

The idea that maybe once in awhile someone out there can take on the 'man' and set things right? Yeah... that's... that makes you dream

or at least sets you up for dreams.

Looks like Nadeen is already using that angle with a fellow cheerleader, "So what? You don't have to put up with that, and you don't have to put up with anyone who tells you that's how it has to be"

and glamour floats about the mortal like a soft halo of light.

A little smile. Yeah, this is a good week.

Then from behind her, there's a cough. The sort to get attention out getting rude maybe hopefully?

Sam looks over her shoulder.

"Uh.." she's seen this guy before, mortal...only in like one of her classes but he was a regular at the baskeball games i nthe stands

"Uh.." He seems to be trying to find his voice

"Yeah?"

'Hey ah... I'm Geordi?" He sounds almost uncertain of it then "I've seen your shirts .. and jacket.. thor fan right I mean.. thor's cool"

His own superman shirt on display, and he smiles a bit, braces flashing

why doesn't he get the plastic sort like normal folks?

"Geordi... like Star Trek?"

"Yeah .. my dad was a big next gen fan" A light blush "It is pretty cool. I actually like DS 9 better because the stories got to get a bit more complex... the Dominion storyline is just incredible."

Lupita looks at Geordi, "Did you..want something?"

"Symon likes old TV like that, too. It's kind of cheesy. Worf's okay, though."

Brighter blush "I was just ah..wondering if.. Sam would mind if I .. you know, Sam would it be okay if I texted you sometime? Maybe we could hang out some time? I ..could pay for a burger or something?"

There is a feeling that at least three tables are now watching this unfold.

She suddenly freezes. "Uh."

Geordi sort of fidgets. Waiting.

May's brows shoot up.

Lupita gives Dagmar a look , ready to give this guy a bum's rush if asked

Jimmy is Jimmy.

"..uh.."

Whispers get a bit more animated at one table of boys looking VERY amused. ANother table, mostly girls, make an 'eww' face but at who is hard to say

"you know.. like.. ah kind of.. a date? " Geordi whisper growing red

"Um. You can text me." Cautious.

"Tha..tahnks..." he says waiting ..and eying her phone.

May gives a 'go ahead' look

"Oh. Right." And she rattles off a number.

He takes it "Thanks..mine is" And gives it quietly... "Anyway , thank enjoy your meal" And he scoots past the gauntlet of attention and judgment.

not that Sam doesn't feel those same visual spears now

And just as many looking at her!

"Uh... you too?"

She looks down at the phone, flabbergasted. "What just happened?"

"You got asked on a date" Lupita says

"But you brought it down to texting so you might get a date, you might not" May adds

Jimmy nods "Geordi is into you"
