"Well, I hope you can do something Chieftain Clem" Tove says "We have to fed her by hand half the time."

Indeed, Dagmar is coaxing Karen with a banana. In slices.

Clem nods, the pennsyvania farmhouse is a nice place, but no hold. Still, perhaps it's not BAnal enough or pehraps, one just doesnt' drop a soul in the Dreaming for too long

"Like this. You pick it up, and drop it, and nom-nom-nom chew..."

Karen eats them when pressed nom nom chew

"Annnnnd swallow." Demonstrating.

Mountain Emmit, another guest grunts "This is... no, she'll never be the same. Whoever did a spell to affect the mind and let it perculate ...which ever one of them, this is dream violation of another sort. It's like a permanent fugue"

Tove says "So this might help her, but without it?"

"Without it, my guess is in a year she MIGHT come out of this with the mind of a human child" Emmit says

Karen..swallows

"Good job!"

Emmit works, "Dagmar, stop feeding her for a moment.. and if she screams, don't panic"

"Um..." She nods, folding her hands in her lap. "Kay."

He puts a pen in her hand, and a notepad in Karen's other "Write."

She twitches "What do you want me to..." sing song.

"WRITE" He commands.

Dagmar frowns, jaw getting a stubborn set.

"WRite write write..." The disoriented woman scribbles words onto it.. gibberish... at least, it makes no sense in context... 'Closet' 'TIght' 'Air!'

She shifts in her seat, glaring at Emmit like this is somehow his fault.

The older troll ignores her, glamour flows as she writes more nonsense words 'immobile' 'immovable' 'immutable'

then he touches a thumb to her forehead, and .. Karen screams! Pad and Pen fall to the floor

Dagmar jerks - stopping herself from leaping to her feet, but clearly wanting to.

Clem puts a hand on her shoulder whispering "he knows what he's doing"

"Enough , Karen, thank you" Emmit says.

And Karen drops like a marionette with her strings cut collasping.

Dagmar make a soft sound, distressed.

Tove says "Please tell me she won't do that again?" Distressed herself.

"What is he doing?"

"I have her name" The Troll Elder says as if that is answer enough. "I'm going to help bring out fae elements in her blood, make her kinain enough so the gloves will work"

A low aside to Tove. "That didn't happen with my name..."

"Bit different" Tove says "A LOT actually"

She frowns at the notepad. "I wanna smash the guys that hurt her. Chop them to bits with Flyswatter."

The troll takes the gloves, and chants over them, an old song from ancient days...

"How can people be so heartless
How can people be so cruel
Easy to be hard
Easy to be cold

How can people have no feelings
How can they ignore their friends
Easy to be proud
Easy to say no"

Tove wrinkles her nose... the cadence is okay but the chant of it ruins how it was meant to be, and it needs more modulation

But strands of glamour flow about and Karen gasps as something her comes out to meet the spell, then recedes, like a tide going out, and in, and out , and in again.

And then he says "Karen... the real Karen, will you take the gloves from Dagmar? Do you trust her?" Not telling her , ordering her..asking.

Karen's eyes flutter and rather than repeat she simply says "Yes."

Clem whispers to Dagmar "Put the gloves on her. If she puts them on once you start so much the better"

"..okay..."

"Here we go, Karen." She's careful, afraid of either being rough with the girl or tearing the gloves.

Teeny tiny gloves..

And the gloves go on and... Karen's eyes reach...can eyes reach? And a gasp...not in pain, but "Oh... I get it now."

And there's a sound like a wave crashing, and a chime of a bell, if that bell were fathoms below...and the worlds smallest dream dance occurs....filling the room barely..but a dream dance it is.

Dagmar tilts her head. "Karen?"

Karen spreads her gloves, the webing of the seal skin matching the new webbing of her hands, her eyes large and luminous.

Tove grins "I spent some time as a Selkie... it was pleasant"

"We aren't too far from the shore..."

Her hair is still blonde, but seems to have a permanent slicked down sort of look as if she just rose out of the water
