Sylvi watches her go. "She gets in moods like that, it's not you."

"I hope not, I was wondering if I should apologize. I was laughing at the idea of were pandas ,not her, not meaning to... " A sigh

"I was, too. So...maybe make that clear later, but not right now. You didn't do anything wrong, she just gets dramatic sometimes."

"Hey, you wanted to go sightseeing while you're here, right? Anything specific you want to see?"

"Oh uhm.. well, you told me about a lake down here that sounded pretty. And I would also like to see what a bigger city is like. I mean, I was in one, but I don't think air ports count."

"Airports totally do not count. Okay...we'll do a Manhattan day. I've gone before, and I think my folks will let us go on our own if they're too busy to go. Soooo...okay, we'll do some of the mortal big attractions, and a couple of glamour spots that mortals don't notice much."

"And a cap which I can hide my face with when I lower my head" A nod

"Hmmm...you could wear a burqa? But then you might get some idiot being confrontational."

"Then I take the burga off and they get what they deserve?"

A smile on her hideous face

Sylvi laughs. "Okay, now that makes it almost a must."

"Sure, I'm game" a chuckle escapes her "Maybe I can turn my people's curse into a karmic lesson"

"Might just be easier to do a cap and a surgical mask...but the burqa is getting more and more tempting as I think about it."

"Let's go with that then I ..."

A knock at the door

"Oh, hey...wait here in the kitchen while I get that, okay?" Sylvi takes another sip of her soda and goes out into the main room to answer the door.

"Okay" She slips in

It's Zane! Carrying a wooden box shaped oddly like the mayflower? "Hey, is the Native American fae here? I heard there was one"

A blink. "Um...yeah. So...you're bringing her a box that looks like the thing the white people came in?" Dubious.

"Oh this is for burning after she takes the symbolic reparations out" He says

He shakes it... are those... beads? and something else glass clanks

Sylvi gives him a grin of amazement. "You're weird sometimes, Zane. Well, okay. Listen, she's Pug'wi....that means she's really hard to look at, like a really disturbing sluagh times a lot. So just...be nice, okay? Come on." She leads the satyr to the kitchen.

"Sure. I.. well , I try not to body shame.. or face shame..>" He follows her

When they get in, they see the Pug'wi is washing dishes.

"Hey, Dika-Hannah, you don't need to do that, but thanks. Zane, this is Dika-Hannah, Dika-Hannah, this is Zane Wayburton, one of my friends."

"Oh" Dika-Hannah turns, the hood obscuring the worst of her features. Stil, Zane's eyes widen a bit. Dika-Hannah continues, "Nice to meet you. I'd shake your hand but it's still wet."

"Oh, you don't have to use the white man's ways to greet me. Whatever fits in your heritage of which you are proud I am sure." Zane says, "On behalf of the local European descendants, I wish to offer you this box of symbolic reparations from stealing this, your people's land from you"

Sylvi facepalms.

"Zane...you're being a little extra."

Dika-Hannah looks at the Mayflower shaped 'gift box', then looks at Sylvi as if to say 'is he for real?"

At Dika-Hannah's questioning look, Sylvi gives a long-suffering nod.

"You'll find beads... and soil, local land in jars, to show the returning of what is rightfully your people's..would we could make it so that..." Zane rattles on

Sylvi breaks in, "Zane's dad is a professor, so sometimes Zane has big ideas."

"I'm from Alaska" Dika-Hannah says as if that should explain.

"...and then sometimes he embarrasses himself."

"What? Someone has to help set things right" He says

"Maybe with less symbolism and more, y'know, conversation?"

"Still...it will be a nice souvenir, right?"

Dika-Hannah takes the box "Thank you very much, but my ancestors never called 'this' area home. Not many of them if any anyway. I mean, there loads of different first nations if you want to use that term. This is more .. Iroquois mohawk sort of terrain right?" a look to Sylvi "Did I get that close?"

"Pretty much, yeah, though we haven't dealt with Nunnehi much around here. At least, not that I know of. Maybe the Chieftain has."

"Well.. yeah..." Zane seems a bit more deflated "We don't get many that I know of and when I heard you were here... I thought it only right..."

"it's very sweet, thank you. I don't feel I can take it on behalf of all Nunehi, but I do take it in the spirit it is intended for all those I CAN speak for" She says very diplomatically

Sylvi's about to cut in, when Dika-Hannah handles the situation beautifully. She really is an emissary.

"Cool... and after you find a spot for the other stuff, you ceremonially burn the mayflower" He advises

"Hey, Zane, what are some places you think Dika-Hannah should see when we go to visit Manhattan?"

"Shakespeare in the park might be going on... " He says with a smile "And if you can swing a smaller theatre for those hoping to break into broadway? Gravy." He ponders "Avoid Wall Street.. I always thought it had a lot more banal people. "

"Well, except for the Defiant Girl statue on Wall Street, yeah. Maybe a show...don't think we can afford big Broadway tickets, though, but something small? Yeah. What do you think about a play, Dika-Hannah?"

"Sure" Dika-Hannah says "We'd never make it to see Hamilton, but maybe we'd get to watch a show about Congress' first janitor?"

Sylvi laughs. "Yeah, some rhyming couplets about a congressional page."
