Word is getting out among the changeling community... there's a rise in prodigals ? or maybe they were always there? Werewolves? and now a vampire? What is all this.

A new plaster mold is on display at the Rivervale lodge, one rembling a teen face but with fangs

"Is that, like, Twilight?" Dagmar inquires

"Nope," Olgar says "They are definitely not like Twilight. They burn up in the sun and fire..though fire gets em quicker" He dusts the new 'trophy' off "Of course, this isn't the real face, just a plaster mold. Wife didn't want a severed head on a pike. I love this lodge but they know how to spoil an Ogre's fun"

"Oh, and while one always hears about exceptions? As a rule? the children of lilith aka vamps? NOT nice. And often very banal"

Olgar is beaming with pride, "Sylvi managed to hold her own pretty well against the little creep. I think she would have had him without me there but I'm glad she had the sense to call for back up."

"Sylvi and you killed a vampire? Damn...."

"It was Sylvi who stumbled onto it... I just answered her text." A chuckle "I'm gonna be kind of obnoxious about this for a bit on her behalf. Sorry about that. Hey, been while since I talked to just you? How you doing? At least your prodigal is friendly. Lupita holding up okay?"

She nods. "Their fledge-ship seems harsher than mine has been, though. Sounds more like boot camp."

"I wouldn't be surprised" He says "The shifters talk like they're at war. I only met like two for any length of time mind you. And I didn't understand half what they said. HEck, you kids have collectively probably met in the last 6 months as many prodigals as I have in ten years"

"Damn. Must be a thing. Say, do you think Lupita could come to my saining? If she's enchanted, she'd forget most of it..."

"That's technically up to the chief, twice actually as storm she sees to the defenses, as Chief, well, she';s chief. Mountain might also have a say as it's a spiritual matter..." Olgar ponders "When is that anyway? May maybe?"

"April fifth. Fifty ONE days."

"Not that you're counting" the ogre smirks "I don't blame you. "

"I mean, then I can go to the Dreaming, right? Trods and stuff. And... y'know... oaths..."

"Well, if it's okay with you I want to give you kind of a tour on the trods.. I do it with everyone their first few times... folks can come with."

"But yeah"

"Will it feel different? Being adopted? Do you think?"

"If by being adopted you mean the oath, do you'll definitely feel it, it may even give you and Jaymes some protections though I'm less sure on taht one having never given nor received it. If you mean by adopted the paper work? Sure makes things easier all around and gives a sense of pride to shout it out to the world, for him and you. If you mean being adopted as he's your dad and you're his daughter? It's pretty clear you already are and have been for awhile now. Frankly, I had my doubts..." He says then says "Not about you, but Jaymes. He seemed a bit too aloof to be a good father figure in some ways, too cold. "

She purples a bit and shrugs. "This is the longest I've been in one place in.... years..."

"Well, I'm glad you found us, and I think I was wrong about Jaymes. You've been good for him.. even with Frank, his brother from another life's mother around, he was closed off. " A nod "As for your saining? I think with the right percautions, Lupita will be allowed to show- but that's just my opinion and I got no say okay?"

"Understood. I'll have to ask the Chief."

"...Jaymes is pretty great." She confesses.

"You will, and I'm glad."

"And Jaymes is just... quiet, you know? Doesn't talk too much, and that's ok. He's okay if I'm not in a mood to talk, neither."

"You two get each other" He says "I think I can see that. Trolls have a reputation for being stoic but we got all kinds."

"Like Siv."

"Or Earl."

"Siv is chaty, Earl is just...uhm..what's the nice word? different?"

"Weird."

"you said it" he says "But the guy can paint. He and Sparrow both. "

"Sparrow is better."

"Don't let Earl's girlfriend hear you say that." A smirk

"Gerd might agree with you though. Sparrow won her over by doing RIkki Tikki Tavi"

"Earl's stuff is weird."

"Sparrow's is pretty."

"Earl's girlfriend is also kinda weird. I mean, Symon's my friend, but he's different?"

"Friends are special cases, and in Symon's situation, he's proven himself one of us. If he's not careful though, one of us is going to paint him blue, cast a Go Ask Alice spell to get his height up and declare him troll enough"

"Oh, he'd be soooo pissed."

"yeah, but if we didn't pay attention would we even hear about it?"

She snorts.

A smile on his ugly face "Yeah, he'd be pissed. But jjokes aside, you got a good friend there"

"He's great, too."

"He's all right" A nod "Anyway, if you wanna talk trods and dreaming sometime, let me know."

"Yes! I wanna see if I wanna be a Rover..."

"It ain't an easy life, but if it's what you want you can find a lot of joy in it"

"I want to protect people from bad guys."

"DO you think Chief'd let me be a thane after I'm sained?"

"I think so. you already do a lot of what thanes do. You patrol, you guard, ad when you have to you fight. " he says "Look, Dagmar, it's going to sound lame if I say 'you can be anything you want to be' but honestly, at this point not TOO much is impossible. You would be a good rover, i think, you'd be a good thane. Heck, you may end up being a good cook if you keep hanging around my wife...she's really grateful for the help. And no, one doesn't always preclude the others"

She chews on her thumbnail. "See, the only thing.. like.. maybe Jaymes wouldn't like it if I was just gone all the time being a Rover?"
