"Hm?" A mild blink.

"I don't have any stories!"

A smile at Dagmar "The Chief should know. She's become the victim of her own success and folks take a lot of liberties with her history, or so I suspect she believes"

An eyebrow at Vali. "I wonder why I might have that impression."

"oh really?" he says "Dagmar who wrestled a shifter to the ground to save lives. Dagmar rescueer of the Wisp. Dagmar who helped defeat the Bug man. Dagmar of Pennons victories. Perhaps they aren't just YOUR stories, but you have those stories too"

"it's a mystery, Chief" Vali says faux somberly

A slight chuckle.

"Well, those are cool. You can tell those stories..."

"And may all the stories they tell about you be good ones, Dagmar."

A tiny smile.

"Thank you, permission is always handy for plausible deniability later on" Mischief in his eyes?

"Hmph. This, I know."

Vali fights a smile, only loses a little.

"I think it'd be cool to be in a book. Except I'd want to be in a comic, you know?"

"Though I like how Tove & Torrin tell stories, too."

A nod. "Hearing your tale told by a skald is a powerful feeling. Usually."

A nod "It can be a bit humbling"

"But cool!"

"Usually," Brekke repeats.

"Chieftain Brekke has more modesty than many Gwydions"

"A certain rooster pooka comes to mind."

"Hmph."

"Okay, that guy was funny"

"I want a song AND a comic book..."

A grin at her, "A song and a comic book. Noted"

"You have already done as much as some who have had stories told of them."

"That's true" Vali agrees

"Dunno, compared to folks here."

Vali looks thoughtful, "Now you sound like Siv."

"Oh, not down on myself. But, well - I'm mostly doing what's expected, right?"

"I only have ten weeks to go."

"I'm gonna make it."

"You are doing more than has been expected of you, Dagmar. You are doing very well."

Trollish understatement.

"Ten weeks?" A brow knit, "Sure it's not twelve?"

"68 days."

"April fifth."

"Not that you're keeping track" A fond smile

She purples. "Um."

"Hm. Was the fourth your chrysalis?" A pause, and a thoughtful nod.

The lodge comes into view. Siv has been clearing paths.. again. And is now giving the path a look as if contemplating a vengeance oath.

"Yeah. At school."

Vali smiles, "Chief, not my biz, but your younger daughter might need to be told it's okay to go inside and get a hot coco before she calls for war against snow flakes and brambles"

"Clearing is good for her." Brekke says with mock sincerity...then does indeed tell Siv to come inside and warm up. "There is more snow coming tomorrow...we will clear it together then."

"Really starting to envy Tijuana, that's all I'm saying.." Siv says then "Thanks, mom" And goes on in with her mother talking about her day.

"I should probably head home."

Vali chuckles at Dagmar "Come spring, you an I both know Siv will be wanting to drive and fly everywhere" Another nod "Okay. Oh, Dagmar? Jaymes doesn't talk much at all. Real stone face. But when he does talk? It's usually about how proud he is of you. I know he's proud of how you helped Lupita too. See you around"

Dagmar smiles. "Thanks Vali. Night."
