The news that there is a WEREWOLF in the county, in the local school no less, may have drawn interest.

So it is, that Lupita blinks as she looks out a lower window at Dag's house that morning "Uhm..is there someone peeking into your house?"

"Huh? Maybe?" Sam shuffles to check the window. Her hair is loose in a giant unruly mane.

Gerd has tried to duck! Sam knows this, as Gerd's not quite ducked enough- hair is visible.

"Gerd!"

"Yikes"

the girl jumps "Sam,, fancy meeting you here" the girl says from the other side of the window

Sam points towards the back door. "Kitchen!"

A sigh "You don't havee to use the Kerrivoice..geez" She scuffs her feet and goes to the kitchen.

Lupita smirks "Cute kid"

"That's Gerd. She lives across the creek." Sam starts for the kitchen herself. "You want cereal? We got Cap'n Crunch and Cheerios and... Grape-nuts." Nose-wrinkle.

"Hey, Grape Nuts are okay, good fiber"

"Now you sound like my dad." She opens the door for Gerd.

Gerd comes in "Good morning..." In a lower voice "is the W-O-L-F girl here? stil? Can I see?"

Sam scowls. "No. My friend is here. And she's just as normal as you."

Lupita is heelping herself to a bowl. "What didd you want?"

"Cap'n Crunch. Weekends call for extra sugar." She goes to get milk from the fridge.

Gerd mutters something

"Cruncch is good too" Lupita says "But I'll have the grape nuts"

"Yuck" Gerd says at that choice

"Gotta keep regular cause you're full of it, hunh?" A smile, clearly a joke.

"Gerd, did you have breakfast or did you sneak out before Vali was up?"

"I didn't sneak...I proactively patrolled in stealth mode" Gerd says

Lupita chuckles "Less of it in me than others. I'mshort"

"Ah, so you fill up faster!"

"Hi." Gerd says "I'm Gerd."

Lupita kindly doesn't comment on the fact Gerd is the worst name for a girl evah "I'm Gonzalez. " then to Sam "Yeah yeah... I burn it up on the court" She's feeling better

A snort-laugh. "You do! Man, next year we're gonna be starters, yeah?"

"Oh so much so... you, May and Me? Unstoppable" Gonzalez agrees "Gerd you gotta see our games"

Gerd is checking the latina girl out for a tail, then says 'oh yah sure"

"Gerd has no appreciation for basketball. She's just a young child."

"Oh ? You might be good at it yourself, Gerd. You're tall for your age" Lupita observes

"Sports are for boys more than girls" Gerd munches her own cereal when its served

"Wow. Where did you get THAT totally wrong idea?"

"Well, guys athletes get paid more right? Must be a reason" Gerd shrugs

Snort. "Because only stuff for money counts?"

"Well...." Gerd looks sheepish "nnoooo"

Lupita snorts too, "look, more people watch guys sports, it's true, so maybe that's a reason, but the women's olympic soccer team for the US has it all over the Men's , and they should get paid more... but the fact they don't doesn't mean the men are better, just that some folks are biased or blind"

"Nooooooo."

"Mmmph." She points a spoon at Lupita in support, being that her mouth is too full of sugary cereal to agree aloud.

"The girls WON more than the boys?" Gerd says surprised "In soccer in the olympics?"

"Yup" MUNCH MUNNCH

"And they don't get as much when they're the better team?" gerd says confused

"Nope. World ain't fair."

"That's not fai..." then Gerd blushes "Okay, but I don't like it"

Sam shrugs. "Don't have to."

"So.. uhm... you like grapenuts...for breakfast. Do you like Steak for dinner, youknow.. rawish?" Gerd asks Lupita

Lupia looks up, and raises a brow "I like a lot of things."

"Gerd..." low.
