It is the big day of the Sadie Hawkins Dance. Of course, that's not till this evening, but folks are hyped or on edge or...well, lots of things.

"I cannot believe I agreed to this" Gonzalez says.

"Dirk" May says stunned, "You asked Dirk out."

"Could have used an intervention," Gonzalez grumphs.

"I'll keep him in line."

"I can handle him myself, provided I don't rip his head off" Gonzalez says

Sylvi sees her date for tonight across the hallway

"Why didn't you ask one of the basketball guys, anyways?"

"I...ah..." She looks at him quickly, then says, "Gonzalez, want me to help you touch up your makeup?"

"I don't know, I don't know it just... blanked" Gonzalez answers Sam, then looks surprised at Sylvi's offer "Thanks. Maybe? Sure. You used to latina complexions?"

"Sylvi's really good at girly stuff. She watches makeup videos."

May coughs "I wouldn't mind help too? Jimmy's too sweet to judge but..."

A pause. "Do I have to wear makeup?"

"I guess we'll find out. Come on..." She drags them to the ladies room.

Gonzalez seems hard to hold still...she's fidgeting.

"You don't have to, Da- Sam...." Sylvi says, setting out the makeup she brought in her little bag in front of the mirrors. "But mascara's a miracle if you do it right."

"...Lupita?" Sam hangs back, a concerned look at her teammate.

"I don't have much in the way of variety, but what I do have is...pretty subtle..." And it is, judging by the colors on her own eyelids and lips...shades of gentle tans and rose.

"I'm good." She says "I just.. I don't know. What if I end up looking like a fool?"

"You won't. I won't let that happen. But listen, we keep an eye out for each other, and if anybody's showing any signs of smudges, we drag 'em back to a mirror, deal?"

"Nah, everybody'll look at the tall lummox in a tux first. And it'll be me, and May, and Sylvi and Siv too..."

"Oh yes thank you please" May says

Gonzalez smiles

Sylvi does a quick touch up on herself, then turns to Gonzalez. "Okay...hold still, and close your eyes...." And she gets to work.

As she works on Gonzalez, she says to Dagmar, "So that's a yes, Sam?"

"Gonzalez, stop fidgeting. You okay?"

"Um. Maybe eyeliner? I dunno..."

A glance to Sam. "Do you trust me?" Certainly a dangerous thing to ask her, but asked seriously.

"I guess..yeah I'll be..."

the door swings open, Eden the snake pooka enters, "uhm. Hi. Just helping myself to the stall to change into my secret identity"

Sylvi's quick and skilled, and it's actually even easier to work on other people's faces. "Hey, come on in," she says to Eden. "We're girl-ifying."

"Hey Eden..."

She rubs the back of her neck. "I guess, Sylvi..."

Eden says "I uhm.. don't get to be agirl tonight"

"Okay...Quick tip, go stand in front of the hand dryer, turn the nozzle up towards your face, close your eyes, and let it blow the mascara dry. Don't stand too close, though. You're up, Sam."

"...You aren't going?"

"All the men on paradise Island have been eaten" Eden says

Gonzalez blow dries her face carefully

Sylvi starts working on Sam if she allows. "So if you want to keep it on, you can, or you can wash it off before anybody sees...but this way they get a peek at what you're going to look like tonight."

May waits her turn.

Sam twitches and fidgets, but tries.

"Take a look, Gonzalez." Sylvi nods her towards the mirror while doing Sam's eyeliner.

"Gotta not rub your eyes. It takes practice. So like I said...help each other with smudge-patrol."

"It itches..."

A pause. "It shouldn't. Oh...um...how bad?"

"She's not allergic is she?" May says surprised

"Not bad?"

"Just... does it look weird?"

Sylvi relaxes. "You'll get used to that, it's more like a tingle than an itch. And no, you look good with it. Blow dry, then check it out. Next!"

To Eden she says, "Come on, let's piss off your folks. I'm a bad influence, right?" A wink and a grin.
