"Hello, Dagmar, Siv. How are you?" She shakes her hair clearing some flakes

"Doing well, did some shoveling, had some fun, got some really good coco"

"...It costs money to use trods?"

"Dross and the like..." Siv said "And it shouldn't and often doesn't"

Nadeen says "A lot depends on if the nobles maintain the trod, offer protection and more on it. "

"Couldn't they be like a gang, though - just set up and say it's protection?"

"But the only thing they're protecting you from is them."

"Yes, they could" Nadeen says "So could commoners, and some do. Redcap corbies are fond of gathering about Raths for that reason"

"That's a dick move."

"Rovers don't charge to protect, right?"

"Uncle Olgar sure doesn't. Some folks donate to them willingly,but as a rule, Rovers protect travelers becausse that's who they are, what theydo, what makes them Knights of the Way" Siv says "Uncle Olgar protects even folks he doesn't like, but then he says they often don't like him either so who gives a sh.. who cares" She corrects before she curses

"Exactly. WHich is kinda badass."

Nadeen tilts her head "It's..interesting, how much they give."

"Knight in Sour armor," Siv says "Sylvi might disagree, and I'd yield toh er knowing her dad best... but folks like Olgar...the ones who see wickedness triumph, and bad people sitting pretty, who think the glass is half empty ... and that it's not a nice place to be... yet they still fight for it. they think that even THAT is worth fighting for even if it doesn't deserve them... well, there IS a kind of courage in it. Me? I like to think the world is over all good. we just have trouble noticing. But there is a courage in his way"

A snort.

"You are a bit naive, Siv" Nadeen says nodding at Dagmar's snort as if agreeing

"I mean, the fae world, maybe..."

Siv puts a hand on her hip, "My dad is a Liam, and he fights for mortals. And maybe the world is dark, but even among them, it's got moments worth living for, and they have hopes and dreams,and it's got good things. We just have to look a bit harder"

"More than a bit" Nadeen says

"I'm not saying there isn't good stuff. I just don't think the world is a very good place."

"Well, just to spite the both of you , ithink I'm going to act like it's wonderful anyway" Siv sticks her tongue out

Nadeen rolsl her eyes

"I mean, I get wanting it to be..."

Siv draws her tongue back in "And I think that's what's important, Dagmar. You try to make your part of it better, not just for yourself either. It's that, and not your strength, that'll make you a real hero." Fond

Nadeen looks at Dagmar "Has she been this over the top all night?"

A shrug. "She's in a good mood. She got a car."

Nadeen sighs "Yes , well, I'm a little envious there"

Siv beams "I am thrilled. Hope I can drive it soon. "

"Right? Cars are expensive."

"Sooo expenseive" Siv says "I mean, they really shouldn't have..." A smile "But don't tell them I said that." Her phone goes off "oh, Bancroft is texting. See you later"

Nadeen nods "Myself, I have some studying to do, thought I would do it here."

"Well, I have to study a bit, too. Jaymes ain't home for a bit. Wanna... " She hesitates. "Wanna work on math, maybe?"

Nadeen actually smiles, "Misery loves company yes? We can resent math together" A nod

"Well, sure." A flicker of a smile as she goes to get her books.

Math is a dangerous foe! but will prove no match for the combined power of a sidhe and troll wilder!
