"I am anot sure myself. I think we went back to Dec 17th, but same location. There was a battle going..cold cruel men in black and gray, so very banal...firing bullets that curved. And these other three willworkers, who felt warmer, so wasn't hard to pick sides. And there we are...near a statue of Saturn"

"Well, there was.... aye. A maelstrom. Magic beyond any art I know."

"The statue held magic, but not... not quite glamour, no..."

"I tried to understand what this thing was, that they fought over..."

"Willworkers...." Brekke's eyes get wide. "You battled with willworkers?"

"Aye. I believe so."

"Aye. Knocked one's gun out of his hand, and shoved my cutlass in another"

"I...have very little experience with them..." Brekke says. And Kerri adds, "I know about them, but not much."

"And.. the 'good wizards ' ... they weren't quite like the stories either really. Though there was one I liked a lot." A blush

A sharp look from her mother. "You killed one?"

"I know they are dangerous... jumped up humans..."

"Death is anathema." Vehement.

"I don't know if that evil wizard... for want of a better term, would have died from thje gut wound or not. But the bullets were real. Zara was in danger. I would not allow another changeling near me to die, not for the darkest prodigal if I can help it"

Siv's jaw is set, her eyes quite firm on this.

She huffs, shoulders slumping. "I am... not very useful in a fight..."

A deep breath and a nod. "The correct choice, Siv. But I do not know the consequences that may follow. I do not know their laws."

"Twas your magic that turned the tied at the end, Zara" Siv reminds, but when her mom speaks she beams

"I think that may not be as great a problem as you think,CHieftain"

"They - the Cold Men - they were talking of rewriting time, of messing with Da'an..."

"I... ah.. I cannot... my realms, I have limits..."

"They can do that?" Kerri asks as Brekke's brow furrows deeply.

"mom, they acted as if they could erase history with FACEBOOK or t he like. It was...denial of truth AND wonder and..."

"They had locked the whole county in a spell, had stolen a day... aye, I believed them."

A shiver then a look to Kerri "THEY thought they could, Aunt Kerri"

A grumble, "I do not know that I would equate Facebook with the truth...."

"I knew not what to do, so I.. I asked Da'an to defend itself. I.. ah.. let it loose."

A blink at Zara...from both women.

"You...did what?" Brekke asks.

Zara knits her fingers together, anxious - but truthful.

"Never seen the like. Instead of the wizards of olderways vanishing... twas the cold ones who felt a foul fortune like I ..it was as if wehat they'd did had a price, and Zara made sure fate new where to collect"

"Unleashed my soothsay. Siv... Siv was hurt..."

Siv blushes

"Aye. I was no longer battle ready"

"The cold wizards were caught in Father Time's grasp, the very fate that was to come to the older way wizards. And they are trapped still. None the wiser of changelings or such save for the three wizards we helped."

A silence. "I...am not sure I understand that. But...you say they will not remember you. This is good."

"I believe wyrding would invoke the Mists, nu?"

"Yes...but with Da'an playing its own whims...I do not know."

"Well, twas one of the good wizards who gave me the bullets with my blood, warned me it might be used against me." She says "Mum, Wulf...oh I Shouldn't mention his name. He knew old ways , mum. He was asatru."

"The lady was nice, but odd...like a hippy in the body modding community"

"Hm. I have heard of the Asatru. " she nods.

"The Kabbalist..." A sniff.

"Ah, the Kabbalist seemed the smartest, but I liked him the least." Siv agrees with Zara

"The three got us to safety. Away from the place, but not to here."

"No. I had them drop me off miles away" Siv says "I should say Wulf healed me part way even before CLem did. If not for him... Well, " A shrug "you know"

"So...if I understand correctly...the cold ones are trapped in their own trap, and the 'nice' ones are safe and away. What of the statue? Is it still contested?"

"And aye, the Asatru aided Siv. Took out the bullets."

"The three have the statue, a duplicate stands there now. One without magic."

A blink. from Brekke "No, I do not know, but I can well imagine. Siv...this was far too dangerous."

"Yes, we went forward in time, wounds and all... the mages, the good mages, stayed in their time but knew enough to come back to aid us when we appeareed and..." A look at her mom "Well, mum, Iwas careful not to give away fae secrets. I didn't even call us changelings"

"We did not anticipate a willworker battle when we went to see if the statue was there. One cannot perfectly predict the future - not even Scathach herself could!"
