At Rivervale, Brekke gets one of those texty things from her daughter as her phone buzzes

Bzzt 'Mum, been busy, went to Firnost, didn't see who I wanteed there, dr oped to a another close hold. Now heading to Farmhold if that's okay?'

Frank might notice his wife's phone on the counter, looks like it got a text.

Frank glances up from reading at his desk. "Brekke?" He calls to her.

Bzzt 'U there?'

Frank stands and heads over to look at the phone. "Brekke? Your phone's buzzing."

He sees the messages.

Frank grunts, reading them.... he uses his own phone to text back. "Dad here. Saw question to mom. When will you be home?"

Bzzt Hour tops, probably sooner. Escorting a friend there too.

Frank carefully pushes the tiny tiny buttons. "Ok. Be careful. Have dross?"

Bzzt 'Low, wll avoid muggles'

"I can bring you some."

Bzzt 'ALreayd at foot bridge. DeBukes can care for me'

When Brekke comes back downstairs, she gets the update from Frank, who also advises that he decided not to "crowd" Siv by insisting on the dross, since she was en route to the farm anyway. Brekke settles in with the phone as Frank goes to tend to an issue with the rig, and she starts the laborious task of texting. Sorry, was in the shower. Where are you now?

Bzzt 'On footbridge. Met clem there. Will bring sled with fresh food for us back. They were worried about us beign snowed out of supplies'

Bzzzt Very good. Give Clem my greetings and our thanks. Paths are cleared.

Bzzt "Shall. On way back'

Bzzt 'Zara maybe with. Be nice'

There's a pause...but that's not surprising. There's always a pause when her mother is texting.

Bzzt Understood.

Soon enough, her daughter comes in. Oak still a bit gimpy, is healing, and tries to keep up with browndog and sis

Zara is in Siv's wake, a pale shadow.

Brekke is in the process of getting herself a coffee, and Kerri is laying out some food...including a tea set and select treats for Zara.

....with a red splotch on her shoulder and sleeve....

And Brekke may notice that a certain blouse is ..are those holes? WIth blood stains? On her daughter?

A hand on her chest and an elegant bow. "Hearth Kerri, a pleasure to see you again."

Brekke turns to regard them without concern...but there is definite concern as soon as she gets a good look at them. "What happened?" Any formality of greeting is gone.

"Well, we got December the 17th back" Siv says proudly

"Hello, Miss Zara." Kerri responds, but it's abrupt as she echoes Brekke's "What happened?"

ANd if Brekke thinks on it, she remembers.. the cake, the party. So does Kerri!

If they check their cellphones, the texts are back!

Brekke does not check her cellphone. She may pause long enough to think, yes, the cake, the party....but she has set down her mug and has gone to give her daughter the once over. "You were...stabbed?!"

"Shot" Siv says "A few times. Clem healed most of it. "

Zara hangs back, quiet for right now.

Brekke STARES at Siv. Kerri, meanwhile, makes a gesture to direct Zara to a seat near the tea. "Are you also healed, Zara?" she asks with concern.

"If not for zara, I'd never have solved the mystery of it" Siv says , and boon would say she believes it true.

"Clementine, aye. I owe her, it was really not that bad. Barely hurt..." Bing goes the Gwydion sense.

"I had armor in play, mum." Siv says "Want the bullets? "

Brekke frowns. "Sit. Let me see." She doesn't seem interested in the story just yet, as she inspects the wounds.

"Be mindful of them - they would make a powerful bunk element..."

Siv sits and shows her back. Three wounds, once gaping holes by the blood spread, are now tiny puckered spots and scars

"You were wyrded? No, I do not wish them, but do keep them, Zara is right." And she shakes her head. "Siv..."

"I know, mum. I know, but at the time I didn't have much choice. Bullets don't respect chimerical armor otherwise"

"I haven't the magic to stop bullets..."

"Zara, why don't you try some our tea. It's really quite good." Siv says

"Hrmph. You both were hurt. I suspect some different choices could have been made prior to bullets being involved."

"Here," Kerri offers to pour.

She picks up the teacup. It fits nicely in her hands and is pleasantly warm. Tea makes everything better.

"Truth, the bullets were entirely a surprise..."
