Olgar shrugs "I suppose that's true. Once got healed by a limerick, but that's about how it goes at best"

"Yes." He looks a little off balance. "Renaissance has a new Freehold and Balefire."

A slight grin to Olgar. "It did not want you to have poetry from me, to be precise."

Surprise and concern. "Something has happened to Fenix?"

"No." He stands for a moment, then goes to get two coffees. "There's Fenix, and now, another one. I don't think it has a name yet."

Olgar raises a brow "Two? Shit. That's great news! Jessica had a hand in that?"

Brekke nods slowly, but cautiously. "Who holds it?"

He brings Brekke a coffee. "Well. For now. Symond, some guy called Shard, and a childling named Sayda."

"Split hold? that denotes a commoner hold. Huh. THat will raise some brows"

"Renaissance already does."

A more satisfied nod. "Jessica is not attempting to hold both. Good."

"I think she wanted to but.... anyway, she didn't say anything about Duff, so I didn't either." He drinks, grumpy.

"I am certain she would have wanted to, but neither fire would have appreciated it, I think." And she reaches to rest a hand on his shoulder as he drinks grumpily. "Good."

Olgar nods "For what it's worth, Duff may fight dirty, but he's effective"

An eyebrow at Olgar. "I seem to recall you are not always the 'cleanest' fighter, yourself."

"I know, but I'm talking to Frank here and trying to sooth him so he doesn't panic at the idea of maybe one day calling an Unseelie 'son'" He says all sensitive like

Brekke very nearly winces at that one, glancing at Frank for his reaction.

Utterly. Stone. Faced. "I don't think. That. Will happen."

"probably not" Olgar shrugs and turns his head so Frank won't see the smirk that he can't quite hold in check

Brekke does see it, however. "You are feeling well enough to be an irritant. Back to normal." She sips her coffee.

Frank's gone from grumpy to pissy.

"Thanks , Chief. I do feel pretty good." Olgar admits and rises "Thanks for healing the kid," A glance to the rookie "If he wises up, I think he'll have a decent future in the rovers. Maybe take a load off"

Brekke looks him over as he rises, an assessing glance. "I think you may have more than one to train, if Dagmar's interest holds true. And I believe your daughter has sometimes considered that path?"

"Dagmar is tempted to be a Thane, but I'll teach her what I know. I told her some ROver skills made good Rath Guards..." A sigh "As for Sylvi, I'm not sure. When I was younger I felt like I had a bead on her, but she's casting a wider net now. Honestly, I just want her happy, you know? I just...don't always know what will do that for her, and I'm pretty sure she is still a bit young yet to know herself."

The ogre's blighted face drops into an expression of mild frustration and concern...not with his daughter, but himself. As if he should be the one with the answers for her. Even Unseelie trolls, it seems, taken on burdens that may not be fully theirs.

"That is not a gift you can give her, Olgar," Brekke says kindly.

"I know I know I just... should be able to answer her questions, and she should be able to ask them... ah.." Hurumph then "She's got leadership potential. Anyone can see that. But details remain... you know, unsure. I kind of want to shake her like a magic 8 ball until it finally stops saying 'reply hazy, try again later'"

Frank huffs and drinks some coffee.

A long look, quiet. "Olgar...are you asking me to name a successor?" An even tone.

Frank's mug stops in mid-lift and he has a -very- unfriendly expression (as much as is visible).

"Hell no," Olgar says shaking his head "Not yet. For crying out loud chief, you came back from the sea trip younger than you went in. Mind you, Siv may have cost you a year or two since then... but no. no. Successor naming is premature at this point in your life, no matter who might be the one."

He nods Good and finishes that drink.

"Mind you, fatherly pride plus what I see in her honestly means yes, I can see her being a lodge chief in the future, but that's just one road, and it sure ain't soon for her."

"Mm." She settles in her chair and leans back. "You are not wrong, Sylvi does show signs of being a leader. But...like you, I think it is not time for her course to be set for her."

"I have noticed she likes some aspects of high society, sophistication. Ironic given her distrust of nobles"

Olgar looks thoughtful

An eyebrow. "Well, you raised her to be a princess, Rover."

Good thing the mug covers any possible smirk....

"That was a mind trick. I made the mistake of looking at her when she was a baby in my wife's arms. "

"Your first mistake," Brekke deadpans. "Siv caught us both with that one."

Frank glances back to the phone closet.

"You had my example and you still fell for it? Hmph. " Olgar says "Kerri let me chase her until she caught me. Then she gave me this daughter that sized me up to see if I could wrap around her finger. Even a good feminist like me could get paranoid if he thought about too long"

"Daughters are ruthless that way." She watches Frank's expression a moment, then sips her coffee.

Olgar notices Frank's head turn to, "Not it helps to say this, Frank, but Jessica sounds like she's got it under control as much as anyone can"

"She does." A sip. "Proud of her."

"Oh, Chief?" A thought

A moment before she responds. "Mm?"
