A rumble. "I am glad it survived. Hm. Alfreda...." She rolls the name around in her memory for a moment, trying to see if it attaches to anything.

Nothing stirs... this could be a stranger, most likely is.

"Dagmar wants to quest for her" Jaymes ssays 'She thinks because she found it, it could be destiny. Me I think she just wants to quest"

"Might be both." A deep breath, then Brekke dips one finger in her coffee, and with it marks the note with the word SPEAK...she then takes a sip of the coffee herself and sets it aside once more. "Tell me of the being who wrote you" she rumbles to the note.

The note whispers "A changeling soul called Alfreda....she's hoping for a rescue and she needs ya. She pines away in pines away. "

Jaymes raises a brow. That didn't say much, though it cofirms the note is not lying about the name or likely location. He doesn't intrude as there will be more questions

A blink...That's unusually consistent. "Who is her captor?"

"A trolll named then, Erik the Grasp, who will guard her and hold her till she breathes her last. He'll keep her safe, entwined and in entrapped. Frankly the girl's life is prisoner crap"

Brekke sits forward and frowns deeply. She looks to Jaymes, and explains, "A suspected ravager." Then to the note, a final question, "Why does he keep her?"

"The reasons are not completely known to me, for I am a hastily written note you see. He claims to protect her, to shield her from a gray hateful world. Like a butter fly in a jar, protected this girl"

A frown and a nod. "Where in the Pine Barrens?" After all, the area trails through several mortal counties.

"Many pines now abound, where the cabin there is found. seek you the pale marsh to start, that's all I've got, this cantrip has done more than it's part'

and it sleeps

She nods, thinking. "Pale marsh...."

"That mean anything?" Jaymes says

"Whitesbog, I think. One of the ghost towns."

A nod "Okay. Erik the Grasp. Possible Ravager. I wonder if Ravaging is how he 'feeds' himself and brings glamour back to his prisoner?"

"It may be." She nods. "Perhaps she is Erik's kin." She looks at him. "You say Dagmar wants to join on this."

"Yes. I Don't want her to." He admits "is that crazy? or selfish?"

"It is fatherly." A pause. "I would not consider her, except that she has already expressed a desire. "

Grunt.

Yes. She can see a resemblance between Jaymes and Frank there. Brothers from different lives there.

She does not grin at that recognition. "Will you come as well?"

"What if Siv wants to come? Would you send her?" A sigh "I'm sorry, that was unfair of me."

A slight lift of her brows. "I would. You do not know how much battle Siv has seen."

A nod "mm how do you...get used to it?"

"You do not, ever, get used to it, as far as I can determine. I do know that we tried too hard to protect Jessica from chasing risks...and she left us."

He grunts "if sshe has to go, then I would like to go too"

"She does not have to, but I will offer her the choice. If she chooses to, then yes, come with us." A pause. "Three of us against one troll ravager...good odds, perhaps."

"If he's been free this long, he maybe more powerthan that we know, and what about this 'devil'?"

"Mm. True. The Jersey Devil...." She trails off a moment, then comes back to explain. "Goat's head and bat wings. It has been tormenting the area for over two-hundred years. Periodically there are hunts, but no true luck."

"And if we encounter that?"

She nods. "We should be a larger group. I will tell Frank. Hmm....Nadeen is too new. Siv will want to go."

"Olgar, if he is not on the silver when we go."

"Sounds like Lut and Tig will have Hold Guard during this"

He grunts.

Vali enters in.

"They often do."

Brekke turns and nods. "Welcome, Vali."

"I'm told theree's something I should omen and ...to quote the Hearth 'if I could whip up a vision gee that would be nice'" he says "ok. Not her exact words. You look tired you two. Rest up. I can do the homework"

Brekke sighs. "Yes. I have Whispered it already..." and she fills him in on what she learned.

...and hands him the note.

He takes the note then nods "Chief, get some food in you. Jaymes, get some sleep. I'll leave a report for both of you in the moring" His brow has gone studious.

Jaymes raises a brow, then looks to the Chief "When he's not fooling around, he's solid."

A bemused, "Yes, sir," to Vali. Then she nods to Jaymes. "We will speak in the morning."

She finishes up her coffee. "Thank you, Vali."

Vali nods and looks it over "You're welcome... no promises ona vision ,but I'll try."

Jaymes nods "I have to get home to my daughter" And heads to the door

"That is all I can ask." She heads upstairs, grinning slightly at Jaymes's wording. "Give her my greetings."

"Will do" And Jaymes is gone. And Brekke heads up the steps And Vali whispers his cantrip and lets secrets come to him at a slow pace.
