A sigh and a nod, and Brekke goes off in the direction indicated by the trail of stiletto marks.

"Redcaps can be relentless. " Nadeen agrees, "I have a vague memory of a pack of them descending on a tower of enemy soldiers... they ate through the brick work to movethrough and destroy everyone inside. Despite arrows coming down"

Siv looks startled as her 'Nadeen' and Dagmar appear to be agreeing on something. Then she picks up her pace to keep up with her mom and whispers something.

Brekke hasn't exactly issued an invitation for others to come with, but she also hasn't told them not to, and doesn't seem opposed to Siv catching up with her.

She shifts her weight from one foot to the other, spiraling back to level.

It would appear the trail leads not to The Dutch Farmhouse where Dagmar lives, but rather further on to Symon's house. Which is, of course where Dirk is now living

"...I hope your dad gets back, too."

Nadeen smiles a bit "Thank you"

Brekke is gratified to see at least that Dirk went somewhere sensible, and not somewhere unreachable, like a wounded animal might. She knocks on the door.

"The Browns are good people. They won't hurt you."

Anne Marie opens it, and seeing it is all fae, she smiles "Baroness? WHat can I do for you?"

A nod to Anne Marie. "I wish to see Dirk. He is not in trouble," she adds quickly to forestall the question. "Is he home?"

At the tree, "I know they're good people. I mean, I couldn't..she couldn't believe when they adopted her. WHo adopts teenagers that age? Right?" A bit more like a regular teen than a bitch sidhe

"Yes, he just got in, stomped straight to his room," Anne Marie says "Come in. My husband is a sleep, he just got back from a long shift."

"We will not disturb him. Where is Dirk's room?"

"Up the stairs, to the left' She says "I'm glad you told me he's not in trouble or I'd be rather worried right now. Is he okay?"

"I will advise you if he is not," Brekke assures her, then heads up the stairs. The proportions of the house are more 'normal' and she moves awkwardly in the more confining space. She knocks on his bedroom door. "Dirk, it is Brekke. May I speak with you."

"Uhm... " Dirk thinks about it then realize it was kidn of a question? "No?"

She chews on her hangnail. "Nobody, yeah. Jaymes took me because I was a troll, and the bug guy, and I was safer away from the browns..."

From the other side of the door

Realization from Nadeen, "You started distancing yourself to protect them. Of course you did."

"They were good fosters..."

"I just... Tanya was perfect..."

"Ha, she wasn't perfect. I have her memories, I know" Nadeen says "She was as messed up..well, as Sam"

A pause outside the door. "I saw the tree, Dirk. It is healed. I want to know that you are well. Let me in."

Sounds of shuffling and "Okay." The door opens and Dirk is there. He's changed shirts, this one is clean and untorn, but there are redflecks showing through

Her jaw works and she looks away. "I'm still part Sam. That's what everyone says. That's why I'm not the Dagmar you remember."

"right, the..changeling way" Nadeen says then "I suppose it was unfair of me to expect the pattern not to change. I..have been a bit presumptive."

The room is a mess, a poster of some heavy metal band on the wall

there's a pile of clothes almost dead center in the bedroom. It.. moves slightly

"...yeah... and Sam's..." She shrugs. "I guess you know."

She looks at him...and then at the moving laundry. An eyebrow. "Let me in, and we will close the door so she does not wander out of your room."

"What? who..nothing here I..." /"meow" goes the laundry/"Fuck it" The cap mutters and lets her in.

Siv fights a chuckle

and goes in too

"I was told she was with you." Brekke comes into the room, lets Siv in as well before shutting the door. "What happened?"
