Torrin laughs "I suppose if nothing else, we know a Scathach with a sense of humor and optimism"

"A lot of them don't?"

"I don't know, but any man willing to face brekke in a joust year after year like that, well, he's no quitter"

"It.. the place we came from, Thyle? It was very easy to hate the sidhe, so they did. " Tove said, "me? I hated Thyle but that's another story. It's hard to decide who is good or bad based on kith, but do becareful. Sidhe are masters of politics. Even the good ones might decide to use you for a greater good"

"Well, I was going to watch the Waltons, but now that two of the favorite ladies in my life are visiting... tell me how is basketball?"

"I will never eat bland food again, if I can help it" She says "And I DID warn her, didn't I, Dagmar?"

"See?" Tove taps her foot

"My apologies, "Torrin says "In that case, she learned a valuable lesson." The old man gestures one hand in front of the other, "Behold... the magic of this hallowed eve brought early" sleight of hand and..out of nowhere it seems, a piece of candy. Very likely Dagmar's favorite

"Oooo, Reeses..."

The skald hands it over "That's well earned. You were ready to rush to the rescue of someone you didn't even know, that's following the Escheat. So consider this your sweet prize."

"Thanks!" the candy disappears into a pocket.

"You're welcome" He smiles, Torrin seems to enjoy playing indulgent grandfather type. While his hobbies may seem a tad dull to a wilder, he seems to have nigh infinite patience with engetic youth, and of course, he treats Racer great. That wins him points.

"So the sidhe is safe for now, the owl isn't upset, and everything is good?"

"Surely seems to be, " He nods "Want to watch the Waltons?"

"Jaymes isn't home for another hour, so.... okay." She plops down on the couch. "Who are the Waltons? Are they like the Kardashians?"

"I have no idea what a Kardashian is...is that one of those aliens on Star Trek? No I don't think so. This is about a family in Virginia in the great depression up to World War II. Small town, hard times, family. It's probably not the sort of show you're used to, but the fun part for me as a skald is guessing which character should have been what kith. "

"Well, who's to say they're not?" Torrin nods at Dagmar

Tove smiles, and gets them drinks, before taking a seat herself. Racer puts his head in Dagmar's lap while she watches

"Well, I think Iron Man might be a nocker..." she settles in, idly petting the greyhound's sleek head as she watches the old show.

And you know, it's slow, needs more explosions, but the old ladies who deal in moonshine are kind of cool, and the family ? they're not bad.

"Reminds me of Clem."

"Little bit yeah" Torrin says. The thee talk and watch , and Racer falls asleep in Dagmar's lap. The cottage somehow doesn't seem that small and cramped now.
