The door opens, Gonzlaez peeks at her "Hey, are you talking to someone?"

"Just TwoBit. Silly dog is barking at shadows." And she heads back in.

"Isn't Tove's flute cool? She has a youtube series where she plays all these viking songs!"

That IS cool. Youtube AND she makes her own flutes? Tove smiles at the praise and tells them the channel name

"SHE went Viral. Like, from the guy that writes the Silverhand books?" Second-hand bragging. It seems you don't need to be a Schwartz to kvell.

It would seem to work, "Oh yeah, I LOVE him" May says gushing/"Who ?" Gonzalez says

May looks horrorfied that Dalena doesn't know and proceeds to explain

Sam is content to listen to May's monologue, smiling. Soon enough it'll be time for them to go home, and May seems happy.

It does end up where they go home, wishing Tove thanks, and Sam "great practice"

"See you Monday!" She waves until they are out of sight.

Tove waits too, then "okay, what's going on?"

"There was a chimera outside. An owl, who wanted to know all kinds of stuff."

"I didn't tell him my name, or if there were only trolls and mortal here. That seemed... nosy.."

"an owl? That's odd, it talked... did it ..no the bug man is gone. Mmm can you say more agbout it?"

"It was blue and silver, named Wooster. He wanted to know if we'd defend a guest, and I mean, sure we would, right?"

"He said his friend was hurt by an arrow and needed to go somewhere, but then he left..."

"Hurt by an arrow?" She looks around for medical supplies "Did you see which way?"

"The start, but not the end. He flew into the trees, and Gonzales came out..."

"If his friend is hurt, we should help - right? I didn't mean to be mean, but I didn't want to tell him too much, because Bug Guy got all upset just about my name..."

"You were right to be cautious, but I'm not sure how we can find him" Tove says as they go outside to look

"Maybe he left feathers? Something? Magic?" Dagmar starts off in the direction the owl went.

It takes a bit of looking around , but taht scooting around the tree? Indicates that yes... a feather was dropped

"Tove!" She holds it up in triumph.

"Good work, let's see what my father can spy... he's not just a skald" She winks

"Oh? Magic? What can he do with a feather? Is he a soothsayer? Frank talked about that one, but I haven't seen it, sounds spooky..."

"It can be" She says "yes, he can spy on folks with parts of them. "

"Come on," She takes her her house, well, cottage. Tove looks at the place with a glance of..distaste? But only for a moment as she shakes her head, "Father are you..."

a dog comes pops up from the porch, the greyhound makes a sort of sprint to Dagmar! Racer remembers her

She laughs and crouches to greet the dog. "Hey boy."

Racer takes in the pets. /Tove notes "I need to buy that dog a sweater for winter" then "Dad?"

"I'm ..fighting with this wretched piece of technology..." A voice from inside

"Oh, yeah, he'll freeze. Hi Torrin!!"

"Hey, anyone know how this stupid magic wand works?" He grumbles coming out with a TV remote "I can't switch it off the DVD"

"Dagmar, you handle the remote, Dad..." She says handing him the chimerical feather, "Spy on this?"

She punches at buttons, taking it back to the TV. "And off?"

"I was just wanting the waltons actually... " he names the channel, the one where they play the old things. He takes the feather "mmmm " He sings low and sweet over it

"It's from an owl named Wooster."

"Sworn to Oak?" He makes another gesture "Blue and Silver feathers... This is a Liam bird."

"Like Frank?"

"Yes, this owl serves that old sidhe knight that was at Pennons. I don't think the lord knows what his chimera is up to"

"Oh! I remember him! The one Connor helped."

"The very old fellow who could..oh" Tove says "dad, can you tell if he's wounded? there was something about an arrow"

Torrin's eyes glow... actually GLOW, that's cool "No, he's unwounded."

"The owl seemed worried, though. And said something about time's arrow?"

"Time's... oh" The skald chuckles "That my dear girl, is a metaphor... like calling spears "Odin's oaks""

Tove looks at her father, a bit worriedly, then to Dagmar "Time's arrow probably has to do with the ravages of age"

"...oh."

"I got nicked myself I'm told," Torrin says with a wink

"But is he okay?"

"Considering his age, and banality, yes. " Torrin sighs "He's not long for this life I fear, but it's just the end of his wheel"
