SHe sits and tries to listen, to understand

"It's like tryin' to put a house on a pile of garbage, right? Whole thing'll fall down. But Dagmar, she's older than Sam. Doesn't need her."

"And you don't need some random mortal, neither."

"Look...us three, we're all weird. I've never really been just mortal, Siv's never had a mortal side at all, and Dagmar's trying to get as far away from mortal as possible. The problem is...all of that can be a problem."

"Because she can fuse with mortals, barring cold iron, Dagmar is coming back" Siv almost whispers it "Siv won't"

"Dagmar, you and I are going to have to live in the mortal world at least part time when we grow up. Like the Chieftain...she's gotta go do that job at the Y to make money, even if Count Hemlock provides most of the funding for the Lodge. Right? So we've got to figure out how to get our mortal sides grown up, just like our fae sides are."

A look at Siv, and she bites her lip and looks down.

"That's not true! It... Sylvi, tell her that's not true!"

"I can't." She shrugs. "Siv's right. She gets one go around, the way I understand it."

"Its why I don't plan..." She says "All I have is this. In that I'm the most mortal of us all..." wryly

Her eyes widen. "But..." She looks between the two girls, speechless.

"So...see...no mortal soul is not a good thing. It's not something to be jealous of." A look at Dagmar. "You kind of think it makes her more...pure, or something, right?"

"I don't know.. I thought.. I dunno..."

"I'm sorry, Siv."

"It's okay, you didn't know" Siv assures

"It's.. not like something I bring up in parties"

"It's bullshit, there has to be a way to fix it - right? Like a treasure or a spell or something?"

"Right, so...Dagmar, Sam protects you from that. She's the one that kind of picked you up when you needed a place to be."

An interested look at Siv at that notion. "Think there might be?"

"Well, how did the other fae get attached to mortals to start with?"

"We'll see, I don't want to get my hopes up" A pause "I don't want to get mum and da's hopes up. It would be cruel to them"

"It's complicated. I don't even get half of it. I mean...Sidhe just swoop in and take somebody..." she stops and stares at Siv.

"But Frank said most of us, we're in there the whole time - just sleeping, until chrysalis."

"And here I come with the miracle body" a pause "Shit, that sounded vain, didn't mean it that way. Sylvi's the pretty one. I'm the fun one. Dagmar's the badass"

"Yeah...the rest of us get born into bodies, but it's the same us coming back around. We just don't remember most of what we did before."

"I think I do. Maybe. Frank says some of my dreams might be memories, ones I have over and over."

"What kind of dreams? I mean, what's in them?"

Curious now herself

She shrugs. "Bits and pieces. I have Flyswatter, though. And armor."

Sylvi grins. "That's cool. And it makes sense. That thing was just, boom, in your hand when you started fighting that time."

"In one, I have a horse - she must be huge, right? For me to ride her? And we're in the woods, on a road... I have to.. there's bad people, and I have to protect... her... someone..."

"Any idea who? I mean, it's a woman, but...anything else about her?"

"The DeBukes have horses like that"

She shakes her head. "I can't see her. She's... bright. Like looking at the sun."

Intrigued

Sylvi nods agreement about the DeBuke horses.

"Must have been a sidhe, if you couldn't look at her."

"They are annnoyingly ..well, beautiful is only half of it. Even Bancroft, and he's a lump"

"I've met a few.. yeah, they're hard to look at."

Sylvi laughs. "Bancroft's not a lump."

"And they're not all POW all the time. Baron Idris...he's, y'know, gorgeous for an old sidhe guy, but he's not all OMG I Can't Look At That when he's helping with the dishes or whatever." A pause. "He's okay."

"Did you see that sidhe that came to see Frank?" Almost wistful.

"Which one? Did you get a name?"

"Sir Magnus? I missed him I think but heard Vali is going to visit him which is why I'm guessing. Fiona friend."

"Oh! Oh, yeah, Magnus is..." She pauses and takes a deep breath. "Wow."

"And Bancroft is too such a lump, " A grin back though "Doesn't tell me how right I am like boys are supposed to."

"Oh, you love it, Siv." Sylvi winks.

"Well, SIr Magnus is off the menu for everyone but one I hear, he's getting married"

"But he's Fiona. Do they even do that?"
