"Siv told stories! Did Clem really turn into a dinosaur?"

Frank clears his throat with amusement.

A wince. "She did, indeed, and then Siv jumped on her back to yell reminders of who she was. Our daughter....." A weary shake of her head.

A deep sigh.

A glance at Dagmar, and at her untouched squash.

Well, the squash has been pushed around the plate.

Frank lifts an eyebrow at her.

"Can I have more potatoes?"

Kerri glances at the Chieftain, then says, "Sure. Finish that, first, and yes."

"Has Gerd been in me room?" A voice from that area , Siv

Dag glowers at the squash. "'Kay."

Kerri calls up. "I told her not to, but that's no guarantee. Come and eat, Siv."

"Yes, Hearth. Ha , Ican use 'troll talk' out loud again" Siv comes down as directed

Frank sighs. "She didn't get up there coming through here....."

"Damnit...." Mumbled.

Looking trepidatious, Dagmar tries one tiny bite of squash.

"Oh much as I loved the smores and other camp fixins, this 'll be a treat" Siv looks to have gone a bit bohemian wild child, though she follows basic hygene, naturally

"Do not dwell on it," Brekke says to Frank. "Siv-proofing is more difficult than bear-proofing."

"Siv proofing?' should I be offended?"

"Probably," Brekke nods easily. "It is a good thing I am not being serious."

Thoughtful chewing.

Kerri makes sure Siv has a plateful of yummy food.

Another forkful, of a normal size. And then the squash is gone in short order.

"I was an angel on...whatever trip we're talking about" Prim nod and she takes her plate "Thank ye, Kerri"

"Seconds?"

Frank huff, much like a bear himself.

Siv would be sure to give her Da a hug or three, then start to eating "Missed you, Da. The Catskills have more wild life than I'd have thought what wit all the tourists. And near more chimera of animals than animals itself.

"My pleasure, Siv." Kerri nods, then smiles to Dagmar. "Of what?"

He smiles, despite himself. A small smile, but still. "We've been hearing about it, Siv."

"...everything?"

Without further comment, Kerri gives another helping of everything to Dagmar. "Let's save some for Jaymes, though."

"Oh Jaymes, humph, he's no fun on camping trips. Hardly. He barely talks! I tried for an hour and a half to get a story out of him, three lines. Three lines of talk he gives....I know he's had adventures but you could fit his summary on a bubble gum wrapper"

"And SOME people can talk for an hour straight without breathing..."

"Thank you, Miss Kerri."

"You're welcome, Dagmar."

Brekke gives Frank a slightly weary sidelong glance as the banter begins between the teens.

"Here now, I'm not that bad" Poke at her food "at least not when someone gives back a little. ANd you talk too, in your sleep"

"Do not."

She tucks into her second plate with as much gusto as the first, squash included.

Siv looks at Dagmar as if the girl had just declared the sky to be a fine rose all over and not blue.

Frank meets Brekke's gaze with some amusement.

Kerri notes the Chieftain's expression, and clears her throat. "I think a bit of dessert." She gets up and goes into the kitchen.

Then she goes back to dinining "Anyway, I had a bout with one banal fellow, but tweren't one of the campers and I got away from him quick and told mom like you both asked. One lady camper turned out to be a pretty good dreamer. Da you should have seen mum muse her. I did not think one could muse stoticly, but there's this college girl with her two friends... and they're all 'trendy this' and 'oh selfie every darn thing' and she was like actually ENJOYING the wild and seem surprised...but mum sort of sat by and just nodded, and then like a pooka got the city girl dreamer to open up ....and I think she were a full blown nature lover by the time mom were done"

True to the story, the Chieftain wears a stoic expression. "It was not difficult. I only listened." A sip of coffee.

"It would not surprise me." He answers quietly, but with pride.

"Oh, that was the night with the corn on the cob, wasn't it? Right in th'fire, husks and all!"

"Ha, yeah I think it was..." Siv grins

"It was delicious. Didn't need nuthin' on it..."

She nods , savoring her own meal. "Yup. Dagmar, remember that guy offering the grilled leeks? "
