"It's Dagmar! Or Sam - should I say Sam on the phone?"

BIC: "Should be safe this time, but normally Sam is a good precaution if you don't know who has it" Jaymes says "Should I back up so you two can talk in private?" Offering to step out of the kitchen

She shrugs at Jaymes.

"It's fine, Dagmar! Wow, it feels like ages! How are you?"

"Good! I got to go on the Kestrel! And to Baltimore! And Jaymes finished the house and I have a BALCONY!"

"They did the balcony? Cool! I know they were muttering about it, and I had to work really hard on not spilling the beans before I left. And...the Chieftain took you to Baltimore on the Kestrel? WOW. Why'd she do that?? She hates going to Baltimore!"

"Welllll not quite. Siv and I went, and Chief picked us up to go home on the boat..."

"She let Siv go to Baltimore? Okay, there's gotta be some kind of story behind that." Sylvi laughs. "Hey, didja see what I sent my folks? Package would have come in today."

"Welllll, I dunno about 'let,' either..."

"What'd you send? Like, walrus tusks?"

"Nope! Better. There are chimera up here, big ones, and I've been helping fight them...and I sent back part of one. It's creeeeepy."

Jaymes is eying the food. Dinner is one thing he neglected "WOnder who delivers in.."

"Okay! I'll look! It sounds fun!"

"Siv and I fought some tree-goblins! They had arrows!"

"You okay?"

"Oh yeah. I got stuck with one, but I didn't feel it until after. Chief did magic on it, so there's just a little round scar..."

Soft knock at the front door, Jaymes raises a brow "I'll get it' ANd heads that way

"Good. She's really good at patching people up. And you get a scar to brag about!"

The smell of spicy chicken flows through the air.

"Totally! Though it's on my side, not like a cool face scar."

"Oh, I think dinner is here..."

"Yeah? Well, cool. I can't tie up the phone here for too long, and we're about to do breakfast."

"Is there really sun at midnight up there?"

"It really is! It's crazy! I keep thinking, wow, must be about four in the afternoon...turns out it's like ten at night!"

"Sounds awesome!"

Tove's voice can be heard down the halls "Really, you show the girl her house well and grand but you neglect food? "//"I was going to order pizza" He says "...you didn't have to."//"Call it my shot at redemption , if you must, Jaymes."/"Tove, about... that I'm..."/"It's quite okay, I brought it for Dagmar, but you can have some too. My date didn't last that long so it was no trouble." //"Date?"//"Yes, Williford is quite the gent and was very charming. Now excuse me."

"It's so beautiful, too. Really...dramatic, y'know? I'm going to try to draw some, but I'm not a real artist, so I'll take pictures, too. And I'm taking all kinds of notes so I don't forget to tell you guys anything when I get back."

"Yeah, yeah... oh, shit, she's gonna leave..."

"Huh?"

"One sec, Sylvi... TOVE?"

"YOU GONNA SEE THE HOUSE TOVE?"

"Jaymes and Tove had a fight and now she's got some stupid weirdo stranger boyfriend."

"What? Oh, no...you gotta...go, make sure she stays! We can talk another time, I promise!"

"Yes yes, but first let me bring your food..." Tove comes in, it smells wonderful, "I think I got it still spicy but not as dry and..oh you're on the phone. I'll quiet down" Tove smiles and shuses as she lays out the food

"You wanna say hi to Sylvi?"

"Sylvi, it's Tove..." phone wrangling - tethering Tove to the cord as she takes the food.

"Hi, Tove!" Sylvi's voice calls tinnily from the phone being passed around.

Tove says "Oh this is your call honeyh... " But she's got it in her hands and doesn't want to be rude, "Hi, Sylvi. It's Tove. "

"Hi! How are you?"

Paper plates, it seems... but THREE. THREE plates set at the island, and three bottles of water from cooler.

"Hi" She smiles, "I'm fine. Just got back from my own dinner..." SHe does eye the food she's serving a bit hungrily though, which is weird if she just ate, "I hear it's lovely up there. Let me know what you learn about the music of the natives if you have time I... oh Dagmar I'm fine I ate. Well, okay I ate some ...." An admission "It was disturbingly bland"

"Ew, nothing as bad as a bland meal. And music, yes, I've heard some, and I'll try and find out more for you. They use flutes a lot, so...maybe I'll try to record some, if they'll let me."

"You should eat it. I saw a thing on TV that the fanciest thing at a restaurant is eating with the chef. So how much more if the chef is at your house?"

"That'd be wonderful...thank you. We all miss you, Sylvi. Your mom and dad especially but Gerd was fussing about she can't do this 'braid' you do for her? but she doesn't know the name?"

And, case in point, she fixes up all three plates.

"Oh...I do a few for her. There's the four-plait, and the fishtail, and the milkmaid...I don't know which one she's thinking of. Maybe...Tove, could you maybe help her look some up online? She can tell which one, and then maybe you or Dagmar could help her with it?"

A giggle. "Or teach Sir Vali how to do it."
