The House should not be done yet, but it's amazing how quickly thinks will go up when ...well, there's glamour to borrow. A lot of the foundation and stone work done over night certain had it's effect. But quicksilver on the work load can't be underestimated. When four or five DeBukes came into help, well, that certainly made an impact.

The family of construction workers, boggans and pooka, might grumble about folkss afraid to let THEM do it all, but even they have to admit what should be a month long rehab has been cut in half. Even as they work on a very special touch that Dagmar does not know of...yet.

Symon, also, helps out as he can. Maybe not heavy lifting or strenuous labor, but there are jobs where a deft hand, one that can reach into tight places, and see in the dark between drywall and rebar to thread wiring instead of cutting holes and having to re-plaster... not a bad trade off.

Symon is sure to notice what the professionals did. A balcony on the outside of Dagmar's room, that Dagmar herself doesn't know about yet. Knowing Dags, she'll love it.

And yes, he gets put in tight places.

The Chieftain has contributed as often as she is able, both in the areas of heavy lifting and in carving detail work...some knotwork, some vines....

Symon, of course, can keep a secret.

Tove and Brekke have compared notes on wood work with Tove impressed by some of the quality of the local lumber. At the request of some of the more environmentally conscious members of the lodge, already fallen dead wood was used in preference of cutting any still living trees down when possible.

Also some reclaimed wood from abandoned barns in regions a little outside the suburbs.

Frank worked on a lot of the roughing-in, tote-and-carry, work.

Jaymes comments on it, "Chieftain, I'd never believe half of this was from some ramshackle heap that had fallen over two years ago. You were right, there was really quality wood under there."

One might notice the front step porch has a section left be, for reslabbing after everything is done. Siv explains from the top of the roof, "See, that's where Dagmar can make her hand print or initials if she likes. Twas Symon's idea." The sailor girl is impressed

Frank, whom the unfinished work was bothering, nods. "Right. That's important. Ok."

Frank thinks, staring at the unfinished bit. "Jaymes. Got a second?"

"Yeah?" Jaymes says nodding "What's up?"

Frank motions him a little aside. "That idea of Symon's gave me one. Back... -way- back.... I left Jessica some ... things. Didn't know I'd ever see her again but just in case... I wanted her to have something that might let her find her way to me, if she wanted to come." He glances at the unfinished corner. "What about a... a time capsule, kind of thing? For you two? And maybe, others, if the time comes? Those kind of things can inspire Dreamers."

"Well, maybe" he says thinking on it "She's..not big on her memories as Sam, that's all that concerns me, but maybe.. you think she'd like a time capsule?"

Frank scratches his beard. "I don't know. It wouldn't have to contain memories of the past. Could hold items for the future. I mean... certainly a bit of dross. Emergency supplies."

Jaymes nods, "I like the dross part yes. Can't be too careful. I've never made one of those. Where do you suggest we put it? "

Frank shrugs. "Under the concrete there, sealed with your handprints."

"I guess I better get a time capsule. Some sort of lock box?"

"Could be. Doesn't have to be fancy, if it's going under concrete it will takes some effort to get to. You got someone who can do that, a lock might not make a difference."

"But air tight" He confirms "Yeah, we can get that today"

"If you think she'd like it, and you would." Frank reminds.

"I think I would. I'll ask her about it." He says "Honestly, Frank I... I like what we're doing here, but it doesn't mean much if she's not happy with it"

"She's putting sweat equity into her home. She'll love it."

Jaymes grunts, but a smile escapes, "Fair. You know she's still going to spend half her time at the lodge right? As it should be, but just saying."

"The other half will be here." Frank sighs and looks up at the roof. "You get your kid to stay home half the time, you're ahead of the game."

"I spend a lot more time than half!" Siv insists then realizes she might havve been giving away she was listening. "Going to Firnost later today I think"

Jaymes raises a brow at that declaration, "What is it about Firnost that the wilders treat it like a mecca?"

"You think?" Frank calls back, frowning a challenge.

"Well, why not da? It's trod all the way, and an easy one at that. No mortals. We both know i'm a touch fragile with autumn things, but I'm dandy with holds and the like. I'm much older than Sylvi whenshe first went, and it's been months since I arrived so I'm now used to fae matters of various types. I've met almost every kith there is."

"It's Firnost. There are... people there you shouldn't .... meet."

"If someone goes with you, ok."

Siv shoots her dad a look, then "Fine." And her head vanishes

Jaymes watches his niece go, then looks to Frank, "She might be a wanderer by nature, Frank." He says it lower so that won't be overheard.

"I know. Pretty sure she is." Frowning still.

"you realize as a trucker you had your own wandering days?" He raises a brow

The older troll shifts. "I was working."

"And you never enjoyed the open road? Finding new places? Huh, Frank. We maybe graybeards now but wilders tend to want to DO more. You think Dagmar isnt' champing at the bit to get into trouble? And her with an enemy out there. Siv atl east seems off the radar."

"And I'd like to keep her that way, Jaymes! Of -course- I had fun doing the work, most of the time."

"Well, you're the professional dad, but it just seems to me that at 16 she's going to start stretching her wings whether you like the wind currents or not" He sighs "Frankly, Dagmar is already making noices, and I don't think it's safe for an unsained to hit raw trod."

"It is -not-." He agrees firmly.

A grunt mumbe "So how do I keep her from doing something stupid?"

"Wish I knew." He sighs. "You talked to her? I mean... hey, maybe go with her on a few trips? I've taken Siv over the road with me."

"Maybe if I took her to FIrnost by road or plane" He grumbles "Take forever, but safer"

"It's about a day and a half, two days." Frank corrects absently. "Driving. Planes are too cramped."

"Two days seems too long for this grumbler, but maybe."

"Or a train?"

"Trains are trickier; less passengers these days, more freight. Could look into it, though." He agrees.
