"We could leave a lot of trees, right?"

"We could try. Sure. I mean, we have to clear a few .."

A pause "Well, maybe just one"

"The one trying to eat the house?"

"Yeah, or..mmaybe.. You know? I got an idea. You don't know Clem that well, but I sailed with her. She can elder form and she can affect plants. I bet if we asked, she might shrink it then we could replant it safely and easily and let it grow full size but a bit further out. What you think?"

"That sounds pretty fancy..."

"Yeah but it's doable. We are after all, magic"

"True."

"SO.. You like the Dutch Colonial?"

"The... first one?"

"The barn? Yeah. And I could walk to the lodge from there..."

"And school, too, I think."

"Well, that settles it." He says "Let's get back to the lodge and I'll try to snatch it up before any one else does. Okay?"

"I like this one too, if you like it better. The balcony is cool."

"you like the balcony eh?"

"It's nice, yeah. But I liked the little... window nook? The bedroom there was fun, too."

"Well, you like little things about both, for you, you know? And you should, but that evens out. But on the practical side, you had a point. The Dutch Colonial is closer. So ...let's go with that. Okay?"

Her face cracks into a broad grin. "Yeah, okay."

His own face cracks in a similar fashion and they head out.

Dagmar walks alongside Jaymes, quiet, yes, but the smile lingers.

They head back to the lodge, and Jaymes gets to work; there's a lot to do to claim that place fast.

As for Dagmar? Even more so than giant blue people and white stags, the idea of a room, a home of her own- it may seem more unreal and wonderful than even that

Indeed - it doesn't feel real, but it's a pleasant dream, nonetheless.
