He pauses in mid-boot-toe and reexamines the ladies. "Clem? Brekke?"

A sigh. "Everything is fine, Frank."

"how was the walk?"

Frank automatically checks the coffee levels before getting his own.

"Fine. Didn't run into Dagmar, which I almost expect to."

"How is Dagmar?" Clem asks.

"Confused and Confusing. I need to talk to Jaymes. What brings you, Clem? Your duties, you said?"

"Well, actually I said I've been tending to my duties."

Brekke nods to Clem to go ahead.

Frank fixes his cup and looks from one to the other... sips.....

Then she puts up a hand for Clem to wait....

Clem waits

A breath. "Clem was just telling me that Siv has been invited to a party."

Frank frowns. "She has."

"Yes. And it is a party that...well, it is hosted by some of the fae local to the Farmhold." A pause. "Not trolls."

"Boggans..." A pause "some redcaps"

Frank's expression is becoming closed-off, stony.

"And a satyr"

Frank purses his lips, looking down at the floor.

Brekke folds her hands together, elbows on the table, and presses her silver-and-blue fingers to her lips, thinking.

After a moment, she adds, "Clem thought we ought to know.'

Frank nods.

"And..." she adds carefully "this party is known for ending in skinny-dipping. Optionally."

Frank looks up at Brekke, his eyes going dark.

"Now not all of them boys..."

She looks back at him. "I do not want her to go, either. The difficulty is...how do we prevent it in a way that does not ensure she will try to defy us?"

"I apologize for bringing this news, it's just..well, I feel like I'm spying on hr, but at the same time..."

"Has she given her reply to the invitation, as far as you know?"

"Not that i know. " She says

A nod. "And...when is the party?"

"News class day , well eve"

"Ah. So...the next time she is scheduled to be there?"

"Yes, sorry." She says "I think she's a good girl, and a smart girl, and I edon't think the boys would... shoot. I don't know. I just know this is one you might want to be filled in on"

Frank nods again.

Frank clears his throat. "Thank you for telling us, Clem. We'll keep your involvement discrete. "

"Yes. I do not want her to feel...spied upon, as you said."

"Am I correct, Clem, that the timing is not coincidental. That this is a 'party' that seems to be scheduled...specifically for her attendance?"

"Oh no, they have this every summer about this time"

"But they're willing to work with her ... if that's what you mean?"

A nod. "Understood."

"Now it's not just boys invited... but I'm not sure how much reassurane that is. oddly, they have their own rules, no one under 16 ever gets in. But with Siv being sixteen that's not much comfort to you"

The teeth grinding sound again. "Not much, no."

"Now, if i may?"

Clem says as if bracing for a lion attack

Brekke, likewise, braces. "Go ahead."

Frank nods, ready.

"Date wrangling and flirting aside, I think Siv isn't looking for ...anything too abrupt or all the way. She's just feeling her oats, but she's not ready to sow them. ALso, she can fight, and she can handle herself pretty darn well. There is another option, but you might think it too intrusive. Still, the older wilders and grumps have done it before."
