Kerri may notice her own daughter has a nasty bruise to the jaw.

"Sorry..." A look at Symon, very brief, before avoiding his gaze.

She wipes at the green ichor, rather gingerly when it comes to her recently-healed arm. Most of her bruises have faded to shadows.

"what's the story?" Jaymes asks since it seems Kerri might not have been heard.

"There was a chimera. It broke the door."

"You should just be sorry you didn't have your flyswatter. Never seen Full Metal Jacket? There are many like it, but that one is yours." A smirk. "Don't think I've ever seen you without it, so see what happens?"

A tsk at the bruise and lump about the size of a small grapefruit, and Kerri makes Sylvi sit down next to Dagmar. "I'll be right back."

She heads back into the Lodge.

"Couldn't swing it in the kitchen anyhow..."

Sylvi watches her mother go inside. "I hope she doesn't have to spit on me."

He watches Kerri go, an intent expression of interest on his face, and then back to Sylvi. Curious, calculating.

A snort, almost a laugh.

"Like a mama bird."

"Your weapon's somewhere secure, though? Like, in your room?" Sylvi asks Dagmar.

"A giant bug chimera just... attacked for no reason?"

Jaymes raises a brow.

"Yeah. And yeah?"

"Chimera do that."

"No..." Sylvi says to James. "There was...whispering first. Remember, Dag?"

"Something, I forget. You heard it first."

Kerri comes back out with...an ice pack. This may be a bit anticlimactic for those expecting theatrics, but even a simple gesture can serve as a bunk, and she sets the cool pack against her daughter's jaw.

"Giant beetles are unaligned. Darkvision, and Ay-Cee thirteen." Muttering to himself. "They won't attack unless you bother their nests, or if they're under thrall. Maybe Dark Elves."

Sylvi accepts the pack with a little grin, then thinks... "It was something like...telling me to get out because I was in the way of their prey? Then when I went in with her, it said I made my choice."

"S'what like Frank said. They want glamour."

"There are easier sources of glamour than two wilder trolls" A frown from Jaymes

"Not like that, though," Sylvi shakes her head. "They don't just crash through wherever there's glamour. We'd never get any sleep."

"But I'm new."

"So... more, right? Like at school?"

Jaymes nods to Sylvi at her commentary

"No that new. Not now. They shouldn't still be doing that. Right?" Sylvi looks to both Kerri and Jaymes.

"They sure as heck shouldn't. Her dream dance is long over." Jaymes frowns

"Some people drag 'em in, I hear. Like flies to honey. But if you were that lucky, every critter would follow you home. And Lovecraft only stalks you when you have chicken." A shake of his head.

"And they wouldn't all be so bad..." Jaymes says

"That was the biggest one..."

Gerd comes down, "What smells?"

Kerri asks, "They said prey?"

She frowns and shakes her head. "I've met not bad Chimera."

He glances up at Gerd, and inches slightly farther away. What smells? Possibly, him.

Sylvi thinks, then nods. "Prey. They said that for sure. Hey, Gerd. It's bug juice, want some?"

"Ick..oh gross" Gerd makes a face

Kerri looks to Jaymes, her expression serious.

"The Stag, right? On Beltane? He was okay." She squeegees the cloth between her horns. "Maybe it's because I'm unseelie?"

Jaymes is not looking happy, not at all, "Someone marks you as prey"

"If I was seelie on Beltane, I got a good one, and the other times I get weird bugs."

"Gotta be something else. If they wanted easy unseelie prey, I'm nearby and squishy." He remarks pragmatically.

"We will need to ward her home," Kerri says to Jaymes.

"Well, you were there with the spider. Lovecraft got it."

Jaymes mutters, "I'm tempted to plant my ass on the roof"

"And the maggots, Frank was there..."

"Spiders, beetles, and maggots?" Jaymes says more clearly, "Someone has a love of bugs."
