"I watched thee, aye. Of course I did."

She looks ashamed, "I fear I was not wearing my best when you did."

Gently. "I am a nightmare, lady. I saw nothing there that repulsed. I saw... survival, aye. Necessity."

The shame dims only slightly "And for survival's sake I should probably forgo dinner." /Zara's keen ears hear something up ahead.

She holds up a quieting finger to the Moth, and concentrates - listening with care.

Ginny holds still.

Her eyes half-close, letting her focus center on one sense.

And Zara hears a skittering, a clattering, something arachnid night, but the chittering is wrong. It's on the trod though! that means it can hurt them. it's approaching.

"Something is coming. Hide thyself."

Zara unbinds her hair, pulling it to cover her face - summoning a veiled eyes.

And the moth goes behind her and takes beast form

Veiled, she waits.

the scorpion chimera is the size of a small horse, it is pale as snow and along its chitin plates are runes, the marks of House Balor! That would explain how it walks the silver, some lord or lady of the House invited it to patrol.

Still.... still... slow, silent breaths....

Don't move. Movement is death. The slightest tremor, the softest vibration, and if it be much like it's autumn kin, it will know she is here...but the veil maybe enough, yes? Or no? she holds.

And it moves past her, pausing briefly as it almost brushes her with a pincher, it looks left, and right, it's tail curling and uncurling.

Not even a blink - like her friends the spiders, like the hind in the wood, predator or prey, a wild thing understands stillness.

A moth flutters out of it's reach, and it has a duty to do... so it moves on. On, scuttling, scraping, skittering...until not just the sight of it, but the sound of it fades.

Wait.... wait... and then, and only then, a breath. Her shadows break apart and tumble into nothingness.

If a moth can look relieved as well, the one behind her does the same. It flutters. and lands on her shoulder.

The little copper spider greets her, mandibles waving. He might not care for this misadventure, but manners maketh spider.

The moth dips her antennae

"Well, I think that means we grow close."

the compass assures her they are on the right path.

"She likely expects this."

The moth falls back, and 1122 politely looks away. Ginny's voice (And form) return to her "Does she? Is this where she wished you to be? I am certain the compass was part of her plan"

"Well. She would expect me to want to rescue him... the treasure, no. That was a secret."

They come to , well, you couldn't call it a fortress, but perhaps a gate house in search of a castle? A crimson lantern dangles over it's door way like a red eye- no doubt deliberate.

She secrets the compass away, dropping to a crouch to study the gate ahead. Guards, doors.... not-doors that would allow a slever sluagh in...

A guard... no gu..oh, wait, the lantern? It has an eye in the light indeed, casting about like some Sauron inspired view, it rolls to the left, then the right, then up slightly, then back to left and right...

A pattern, then. And one to avoid.

She watches, planning - looking for the moment it is safe to dart forward and get BEHIND that crimson arc....

And the scorpion may eventually come. Yes, she must find the pattern, but cannot tarry either. Count it out. And... now!

A deft lunge, graceful and silent.

and past the lantern they go... Ginny following her lead. While no sluagh, she's deft, more stealthy than many non sluagh.

Now close, she hunts for ingress... while she can pick locks, it is even better to bypass them.

There, a crack between bricks.

She makes a little face. Possible, but slow. Zara slides her hand into the gap, her arm following.

There is space further in. It can be done, but tricky. Her other option is to pick the lock.

A slight snag but then she is through speedily enough, into a stone hallway with sconces holding candles rather than torches. To the right she can see the other side of the door she just bypassed and perhaps a hallway across from it. To her left, the hallway continues but has a door on the right if one is facing left, or a continuing way. OOC: Perception plus Alertness
