First day back is never much fun, but it was okay.

New drama, though...my PhD program advisor has retired.

Not exactly sure what that means for my dissertation yet.

I've had to open the door and socially interact with a stranger once per day in the last day, and my inner hermit is grumbling! Otherwise ok need to get sleep on schedule

I'm also going to have to get to bed at a reasonable time, probably no later than 9:15 tonight.

Okay, one bright spot in the day: I wore a pair of shoes that I bought this weekend all day today, and no blisters! They're breaking in perfectly.

But... have you ever tried to DESCRIBE to someone who hasn't seen it... what plastic they are talking about? It sounds INSANE.

I found a wee clip on the Sopranos (rewatch) that shows exactly that plastic. So, I showed JUST that clip to him. And now he gets it.

LOL We never had that plastic in my family, but I visited a friend whose mother had had all the furniture on the main floor COVERED in it. Everything squeaked. And even with the plastic, kids weren't allowed to sit on the stuff.
