It's tricky. We had a kid last year who came to school with a gun in his backpack. He said he had it in there over the weekend, and forgot to take it out. I think he was suspended for months, possibly the whole year. It's arguably the same situation. But I know I feel more afraid of a kid with a gun than with pepper spray.

There's a big difference between a gun & pepper spray. One of them is a lethal weapon.

Ironically, if she were in COLLEGE, there is a specific TN law protecting the right of female students to carry pepper spray after a girl was raped & killed
